Turkish turtledove (Sierpówka) - a smaller and calmer variety of pigeons This beautiful bird, belonging to the pigeon family, although it is quite common, is not very often seen in urban agglomerations. He is timid, does not like large groups, likes peace and life in pairs. This bird is the Turkish turtledove, or in other words the "Sierpówka". The name of the sickle cell comes from the black stripe around the neck, surrounded by a white border that resembles a sickle. On the other hand, another name, the Turkish turtledove, comes from the fact that it came to Europe from Turkey from the Ottoman times.
