Neck pain? 4 exercises that will help you relieve it

Do you suffer from cervical pain? ? Neck pain is a discomfort that I have suffered for many years. I spend many hours in front of the computer in my office work, in addition to those I spend at home.

I started with a slight discomfort but over time it has worsened, when the pain is very strong I resort to therapies and analgesics recommended by the doctor.

In general, the pain worsens when I sleep in a bad position, lift weights, from stress, and when I spend a lot of time sitting in front of the computer. This makes moving my neck really painful, sometimes it causes a headache, I even get in a bad mood.

When the pain is very strong and I cannot move my neck, to relieve it I do an exercise routine recommended by the physiatrist.

Exercise 1:

I sit on a chair with my back straight against my back, I turn my neck to the right until my chin is at shoulder level, I repeat this same movement to the left.

Exercise 2:

Maintain the position with the back straight in the chair and try to bring the ear to the left shoulder, I repeat this same movement to the right.

Exercise 3:

With my back straight, I lift my head as if to look up and then slowly lower it until my chin is pressed against my chest.

Exercise 4:

In the lotus position, keep your back straight for one minute.

When the neck muscles are very contracted, I cannot execute the routine at 100%, however I repeat them several times until they are completed according to the instructions of the physiatrist.

These are some of the exercises that you can practice to relieve neck pain and one of the advantages is that you can enable any area of the house and practice them.

To prevent the pain from becoming too bad, I try to:

  • We must take an active break while we are working, practicing gentle exercises to relax the muscles of the neck and shoulders.

  • I try to maintain a good position when I work on the computer.

  • I avoid lifting weights, I stop carrying heavy purses.

  • These exercises generally take 10-15 minutes to perform, which in addition to helping me relieve pain, help me relax and relieve stress.

  • Consult a specialist to make a diagnosis and recommend appropriate exercise.
