8 tips to get out of the dark side

Sometimes we think and feel that we have not done anything with our lives. We compare ourselves with others and see that we do not have the perfect family, the car, the house… everything. This unsettling feeling makes us see that we have lived locked in an empty existence. That our life has passed without pain or glory.

Sometimes it is normal, to feel like this, however maintaining this attitude for a long time is not good, because it plunges us into a deep crisis. All this suffocating atmosphere emerges when we need a change, when monotony and routine drag us into that deep and dark well.

With this feeling we are also terrified of continuing to be locked in that labyrinth from which we cannot find a quick exit. When these types of thoughts and feelings break into us, we need to review ourselves, see what led us to this situation.

With the Pandemic, all our routines were disrupted and even more monotonous routines emerged: locked up without being able to leave, without having contacts; it also made us have this feeling.

But when these thoughts come to us, what can we do, how to get them out of our mind? Here are some tips that can help you get rid of those negative thoughts.

  1. Take a walk. When you feel that the "dark side of the force" calls you, take a walk around your house or through the urbanization. Walking allows you to oxygenate your brain and provides you with distracting elements, it also allows the body to secrete the hormones of happiness.

  2. Eat a chocolate. The more bitter the better, scientific studies have shown that high purity chocolate not only helps you with the secretion of hormones to feel good, but also helps with your memory. So consuming it will not only make you feel good, but will help with your memory.

  3. Take a bath. There is no better way to forget negative things than to take a long, relaxing bath. Don't you have a tub? Never think that you are bad for not being married, with children, with a beautiful house and with a great job. Remember that God's timing is perfect, it is humans who decide not to.

  6. Think of yourself positively. We all have positive qualities for what they are that we should focus on. If you are a good cook, exploit that quality; If you are good at listening to others, dedicate yourself to that, how many need to be heard; If you are good at exercising, then offer your services. There are so many positive things about us that we do not know, because we only focus on the negative. So it's time to think about what we're good at.

  7. Cooking for the soul. If you are not a good cook, it does not matter, but cooking has been shown to be excellent therapy, it helps and motivates you. Mixing and inventing, trying new flavors, combining them is a key experience to keep going.

  8. Sing at the top of your lungs. Singing and listening to loud music allows you to free yourself. Singing with all your desire, listening to music that allows you to express yourself through dance, even if you don't know how to do it, is a liberating experience. Move with or without rhythm, the important thing is not to be lying on the couch or bed. With this activity we propose to feel that we are alive and moving.
