Evolution is a process by which living things change over time, and adapt to the condition of their environment. For example, fossils reveal that the modern horse evovled from smaller ancestors; the earliest horse, hyracotherium, was about the size of small dog. Evolution can also bring about a reduction in size, and a loss of redundant features, such as wings.
