It was on March 2020 when COVID 19 covered the whole world with fear and uncertainty. This means that the people is battling with the said pandemic for a year now. A lot of things and people have changed, and there is no permanent in this world, but change. Education has also experienced changed that greatly affected the learners, parents and teachers.
The question of everybody now is, how will the teachers grade their learners? Will they use the same grading system? Or follow what others suggest...Whether to pass or fail the students who will not meet the requirements set by the Department of Education which are all based on the Most Essential Learning Competencies.
If for others, they prefer the same grading system prior to the pandemic, for me, I would choose the Passed or Failed grading system, since there is no reliability and validity of the outputs being submitted by the learners. We are not sure if they really made it by themselves.
It is up for the teachers whether they will conduct investigation and or observation to further evaluate and validate the data they have at hand. Everyone must be rated with a passing or failing grade. The learners, parents and teachers must be evaluated and ask the question, what have you done to help yourself and others in order to pass? Remember, we belong to one community and as what the Structural-Functionalism state, that to be able to have a functional community, every member must perform his or her duties and responsibilities.
