Not counting calories, not following numerous rules, and at the same time losing weight and improving the condition of the body and skin - this dream is realized by many women with an alkaline diet, which is very popular among Hollywood stars. Famous beauties Victoria Beckham, Jennifer Aniston, Kirsten Dunst, Gisele Bindschen and Gwyneth Paltrow live exactly on that principle.

A few years ago, nutritionists Vicki Edgson and Natasha Koret developed a diet program to normalize acidity, with the intention of helping people who have gastrointestinal disorders. If the pH indicator of the body's balance returns to normal (from 7.35 to 7.45), problems with digestion and metabolic processes disappear. This is discussed in the book "Honestly Healthy Alkaline Program".

The principle of alkaline diet is simple: all products are divided into alkaline and acidic, ie those that give a basic or acidic reaction during digestion.

The influence of these two reactions on the processes that affect health and weight loss, as well as their proper combination, are the basis of the diet.

What does diet affect?

The system has numerous advantages. When an alkaline diet:

digestion processes are established;

appetite is stabilized and the body has no need to overeat;

nutrients are better absorbed;

improves the condition of the skin, hair and nails;

skin rashes disappear;

energy is consecrated and fatigue disappears;

weight loss (you can lose 4-5 kg in a month).

The only rule of the diet is to include 80% alkaline and 20% acidic foods in your diet. You can keep the diet for only a day, a week or any other period of time - the main thing is to maintain the necessary balance.

Everything else can remain as before, starting from the portion size, up to the number of meals. Nutritionists say that the processes will speed up if you eliminate sugar and alcohol from your diet, but that is not obligatory.

Judging by the list of foods, the diet will especially appeal to vegetable lovers, but even the supporters of animal foods should not despair: it is not a matter of banning foods, but of combining them properly.

All types of milk, except cow's milk.

All fruits except grapes (many types of fruit are neutral, but citrus fruits have the greatest alkaline effect).

All kinds of green vegetables and salads.

Yeast-free black bread, all kinds of cereals.

Nuts (except pistachios, cashews and peanuts), pumpkin seeds.

Menu suggestion

The principle of the diet is to make the menu yourself, based on your needs, but here are suggestions on how to do it:

Breakfast suggestion: vegetables, fruits, milk (vegetable variants), yogurt, eggs (no more than two), sandwiches with unleavened bread.

Lunch variant: 150-200 g of protein food (meat, fish, eggs), garnished with cereals, vegetables, pasta, greens. For dessert - fruit, dried fruit (up to 50 g).

For dinner you can take: vegetables, cereals, pasta, fruits. You can also add protein (up to 100 g).

As a snack, you can take: nuts, seeds, fruits, goat cheese, freshly squeezed juices and smoothies.

Alcohol, meat products, sweets, canned food and pastries are allowed to be consumed at most once a day, but it is best to keep them to a minimum.
