There is one small big car brand from Romania, you guessed it, it's Dacia. Next year they will release 3 of their brand new models. Honestly, I was a big skeptic. However, I sat in a taxi, a Dacia logan model. I ask the taxi driver, did the master, how is this Romanian going, like this, I covered 360,000 km with him and I plan so much more and then to give it to my dad who lives in the village. It may not be the best purchase, but it is definitely one of the smarter purchases, when we talk about new cars, because which is the best car, so you know, the best car is a new car.
After publishing the first photos of the exterior, the Romanian manufacturer held an online premiere and revealed what the interior of the new generation of Sandero, Sandero Stepway and Logan models looks like.
Dacia presented the design of the new, third generation Sandero-Logan-Stepway trio in early September, and now we have the opportunity to see to what extent this manufacturer has improved the interior of the vehicle, but also to find out the first technical details of the three subcompact models.
As is well known, the new generation of Dacia vehicles is mounted on the modern CMF mechanical platform of the Renault Group, which has enabled the installation of new engines and transmission systems.
On this occasion, Sandero, Logan and the attractive Sandero Stepway were presented, and Dacia did not mention the station wagon version of the Logan MCV.
This means that the caravan has either been canceled or will be introduced later.
Let's start with the standard Sander, which is the most popular model in Europe of these three cars.
In addition to a more dynamic appearance on the road thanks to the new design and a 10 mm lower body, the Sandero also has wider fenders and a more sloping windshield than its predecessor.
Its "cross" variant Stepway has a 41 mm greater distance from the ground and, as before, roof rails, as well as protective accessories to the lower parts of the body (arches around the wheels, sills, bumpers ...).
It also has protective elements under the front and rear bumpers.
As for the Logan, this small sedan is now 36 mm longer compared to the outgoing model, and the extra inches are obtained thanks to the greater wheelbase.
Logan shares the same design language with the remaining two hatchback models, with distinctive LED headlights at the front and rear.
The photos of the passenger cabin show that Dacia has made a big step forward when it comes to interior design.
The control panel looks more harmonious, and it seems that the ergonomics and materials in the cabin have been improved.
One of the more significant improvements is the new multimedia system with a large screen (in the most expensive version it is 8 inches diagonal), which is located on the top of the center console.
The new design of the seat and multifunction steering wheel is also noticeable, as well as the classic, analog instrument panel, and there are also new digital "climate" controls.
There are also new ventilation openings, as well as an electric "hand" brake.
The new generation of the three Dacia models also brings more comfort in the cabin, especially for rear-seat passengers.
The Romanian manufacturer boasted that they will have 42 mm more knee space than in previous versions of these cars.
The luggage space has also been increased, so the volume of the trunk in Logan is 528 liters, and in Sander 328 liters.
Depending on the equipment package, the new Sandero / Stepway / Logan can also have cruise control, automatic high beam activation, rear camera, front and rear parking sensors, automatic wiper activation, and the aforementioned automatic air conditioning and electric "manual".
The front seat heaters will be available as an option from April 2021, the Romanian company announced, and later that year, an electric glass roof will arrive.
In the new generation of three models, Dacia has completely lost its diesel. The engine will initially consist of two petrol and one liquefied petroleum gas version.
The base model will use an atmospheric 1.0-liter three-cylinder SCe 65, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.
In addition, customers will be able to choose the three-cylinder turbo-petrol TCe 90 (same volume), paired with a 6-speed manual or CVT automatic transmission.
Finally, there is the 1.0 Eco-G 100 turbo, which in addition to gasoline can also run on liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
The engine is also three-cylinder, and the transmission is "manual" with a 6-speed transmission.
The Romanian manufacturer states that thanks to the new CMF mechanical platform, passive safety has been improved, but also the installation of numerous modern active safety systems has been enabled.
Among them is AEB (Emergency Brake Assist), as well as the eCall system for automatically calling for help in case of an accident.
There are also various driver assistance systems, such as a blind spot warning, parking assistance and hill start assistance.
The new generation of Sandero / Stepway / Logan models will arrive in showrooms by the end of the year, and prices will be announced later.
