Greek Archimedes, who lived between 287 and 212 BC, was one of the most important scientists of his age. Archimedes made many inventions in different branches of science, from mathematics to physics, from engineering to astronomy. Let's talk about some of the discoveries of this valuable scientist from prehistoric times that shed light on the present.

Archimedes noticed that some objects float in liquid, while others sink. He explained that the reason for this situation is that the force exerted by the liquid on the object is in the opposite direction to the weight of the object. This principle is known as the "Arcimedes principle".

The pulley and lever systems that Archimedes invented to lift heavy loads were also used in the military field. When the city where Archimedes was born was besieged by the Romans, some weapons inspired by his inventions were used to defend the city.

Archimedes explained how to calculate the area and volume of some geometric bodies and found the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter (PI number).

Archimedes invented a screw that served as a pump to draw water from a lake or stream or to move water up. This screw is called "Archimedes screw". The Archimedes screw has contributed to humanity in many fields such as shipping, agriculture and mining for centuries. The Archimedes screw is still used in some water treatment plants.

In short, Archimedes was a great scientist who made great contributions to human history.
