In Philippines most of the bakeries or bakeshops sell pandesal...sometimes this is also sold in rolling store like a bike with big box on the back every morning...
Pandesal can also be eaten as it is. I like having or eating pandesal along with hot coffee. I am also one of those people who loves to dip it in hot coffee.
How to make or bake a pandesal
one)Mixed the yeast, sugar, and warm milk and stir until the yeast and sugar are fully dissolved
two)And in the mixing bowl put and mix the dry ingredients starting with the flour then the sugar, salt, and baking powder . Stir and mix it well.
three)And then add the egg, butter, cooking oil, and yeast-sugar-milk mixture in the mixing bowl with the dry ingredients then mix again until a dough is formed. Use your hands to effectively mix the ingredients.make sure your hands are cleaned and well sanitized.
four)In the table or a flat surface, knead the dough until the texture becomes fine. For faster and easier kneading, you may use a Stand Mixer with dough hook if you have this machine.
five)Mold the dough until shape becomes round then put back in the mixing bowl. Cover the mixing bowl with damp cloth and let the dough rise for 1 hour.
six)Bring or put the dough back to the table or flat surface and divide it equally into 4 parts using a dough slicer.
seven)Then roll each part until it forms a cylindrical shape.
eight)and start to slice the cylindrical dough diagonally .These slices will be the individual pieces of the pandesal.
nine)then roll the sliced dough over the breadcrumbs and place in a baking tray with wax paper.make sure with enough space between the slices dough.
ten)you can leave the sliced dough with breadcrumbs in the tray for another 10 to 15 minutes to rise
eleven)start to pre-heat the oven at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for only 10 minutes
Put the tray with dough in the oven and bake for 15 minutes
twelve)Turn off the oven and the you can put out or remove the freshly baked pandesal.
Your newly baked pandesal is ready to serve..

2 cups of flour (all purpose)
2 cups bread flour
1/2 cup sugar (white)
5 tbsp butter (melted)
1 tsp baking powder
1 & 1/4 cup fresh milk (warm)
1 pouch yeast (use rapid rise yeast)
1 tsp salt
1 cup bread crumbs
1 piece of raw egg
1 tbsp cooking oil
