The Walking Dead Season 1 Episode 3 Review/Recap

A very different episode this one. After the action of the previous two, this is more about consolidation.

The city crew return home......to the same camp we heard about before. I had my submissions but this confirms they are all part of the same group. And sure enough, the main guy is reunited with his wife.

This episode starts to highlight some tensions which I can tell they are going to exploit for the episodes and seasons ahead: not everyone agrees with each other. In the end, some decide to go back and rescue the guy they left behind, even though most of them don't like the guy.

There was also an interesting end to the episode where we find out one of the camp members is a kind of chauvinist guy who beats his wife. He himself is given a beating by an ex-cop camp member. Not pretty but many would say he deserved to get taught a lesson, albeit in a very brutal way. He already showed earlier signs of being 'difficult'. One thing this show is not short of is masses of testosterone vying for dominance. It's predictable in a way but of course it guarantees action and drama!
