Understanding And Accepting

Nothing makes sense

Living in a Universe spinning with no real purpose whatsoever, trapped in an endless cycle of life and death, it can be very easy to lose your way and end up consuming your precious time thinking it's all in vain. Time is borrowed and nothing lasts forever, and this can be a thought process that can drain you out and make you lose motivation once in a while. Human beings have a need for meaning and life purpose, and obtaining more and more knowledge on the nature of the universe itself can make it really hard to make sense of it all. The more we discover, the more we realize we know nothing at all. The world is not what it seems to be, and our perception of reality is nothing but the product of our senses and the way they react to the signals emitted by our surroundings.

As a result, whenever we take the time to look at the quantum realm, we realize that there's much we do know that we don't know, and even more we don't even realize we don't know. For instance, the quantum entanglement phenomenon is very real and absolutely weird at the same time, and even Einstein didn't know how to deal with it. He named it ''spooky action at a distance'' and never managed to explain it, as it actually serves as evidence that his Theory of Relativity is not a very accurate model to describe the nature of the Universe. I won't go into the super-technical details, but I will mention that it has been observed that entangled particles communicate instantly regardless of distance, which basically means that communication between entangled particles can happen much faster than the speed of light. Einstein knew this but he never figured out how it's possible.

No explanation yet

Decades have passed and we still don't know the answer, and I can't help but think that there's a lot more we know nothing about, and a lot we think we do know about but have gotten it all wrong. Some of the mathematical equations we have come up with to explain the phenomena taking place in the physical world are probably not absolutely accurate, which if proven correct would basically mean that we have been looking for information based on observation in the wrong direction for decades now. The Laws of Thermodynamics for instance; what if we are wrong about the way physics work? What if there are ways to convert energy with 100% efficiency? This would mean we have wasted and still waste a lot of energy which we could be saving and using to assist the advancement of our technology, which would enable us to solve today's problems.

Of course advancement will probably create another problem for every single one it solves, but personally, I believe we will be able to rid ourselves from this endless loop once we realize that we have been looking at things from the wrong perspective. The double slit experiment is absolutely mind-blowing and serves as evidence that we do not really know that much about physics and how it actually works. We have only been able to come up with models and theories that seem to sufficiently describe what we have been observing around us, but in reality we still have a long way to go, and when we look at things on the quantum scale, we realize that there is a significant chasm between what we think is real and what is real.

Apparently electrons appear to exist at two different states simultaneously, and the best part is that they are somehow aware of our presence and attempts to observe and record their motion. I know it sounds far-fetched, but this is exactly what researchers have figured out, as electrons seem to act as waves when we are not observing them and as particles when we are. Our observation of their motion and state changes their state itself, and we really have no clue as to how or why this is possible. An electron can exist in two different locations at the same time, and we still have no clue how it's possible to this day. Things get really weird in the quantum realm, and the fact that we cannot explain things means we don't know much about the fabric of spacetime itself.

Long way to go

And while getting involved in the pursuit of truth and looking all this up can be a real nightmare, it also serves as a sign that you don't really have to stress things. You don't need to understand everything and find all the answers in order to be happy and live a blessed life. The simple things can give you the most fulfillment in life, and it always pays to settle for less and choose to just be happy with whatever it is you were blessed with, because nobody has it all, and there will always be something you can't have no matter who you are or what you have accomplished in life. And in my humble opinion, this principle can also be applied in our pursuit for pleasure, gratification and non-material things in general. I have nothing but respect for people who crave knowledge and seek the truth, but I want them to know that they can still live a happy life without it.

The world we live in is a magical place whether you do believe there is an almighty creator or not, because both scenarios mean that there is something that came into existence out of nothing, or always existed, even before the Big Bang and the creation of the Universe itself. I mean there must have been something that caused the enormous explosion that gave shape to the realm we are living in, and then there has to be something that fueled whatever it was that fueled the Big Bang explosion itself. And then there must be something else responsible for it and so on, which means that in the very beginning, something came out of nothing, be it God, matter, sound, light or whatever works for you. I don't have the answers anyway, so don't take my word for anything. Just sharing my thoughts.

Regardless of it all, life is what you make of it and you are the only one in charge of your mood and the way you decide to spend your day today. It's up to you to change the world by changing the way you perceive reality, and happiness is a mental state; it comes from within. No amount of wealth can make you truly happy inside, because it takes inner peace and the ability to live in harmony with your surroundings to achieve true happiness, and this reward is the product of solitary mental work and can't be purchased. Now please don't get me wrong, money is awesome and you should always stack as much as you can, but what I am saying is that it's not enough and won't make you happy on its own. You need to be in control of everything going on between your ears to be in a position to enjoy the fruit of your labour, and to achieve that you have to be able to accept and live in harmony with what you can't control nor change.

Time travels on

Time flies and as we grow older we get the feeling that it passes even faster, and that is due to the fact that a year becomes an even smaller percentage of the total time lived this far as the years go by. We are blessed to live in the information age and have an entire parallel universe of information at our finger tips with a click of a button, so we should look to make the most of the situation and use the limitless possibilites provided to our advantage. It is always a noble cause to live life serving others and helping them to overcome the obstacles they are faced with, and this is one effective way of finding fulfillment in life by actually giving instead of taking. That is all the proof you need that the key to happiness lies in the choices we make.

Just imagine a world where everyone rushes to help a fellow human being in need without expecting anything in return. Imagine the limitless possibilites for our species in a world where unconditional care and support is the norm. I do believe there is not a single obstacle we could not overcome as a species in a world like this. In the future we may be faced with global threats and emergencies that will make it absolutely necessary to cooperate and care for each other on another level in order to ensure the survival of mankind. And I am positive we will unite, do what it takes and come out on top. There are many reasons to be optimistic, and you will be in for some huge surprises if you choose to start today. Find happiness in the simple things, be grateful for everything you have, and watch your dreams come true.

I appreciate your attention,

Indeed. Life, existence and everything thats happenin around is hard to understand. Where did it come from? Whats the origin and all that. But there are really things thats better left unsaid and unexplained. Thanks for this wonderful article :)

It is really mind-blowing to even think about where it all began. Apparently the only logical explanation is that in the beginning something came out of nothing. Sounds crazy but it's the only logical explanation.

Thanks for taking the time to read and leave a nice response. Have a good day :)

I liked this article. I agree with you that we are in the times of investigations in the quantum field. A complex world in which we are just beginning to dig. As also when he spoke about the importance of the subjective reality of each individual and the relationship with the other.

A caring and responsible attitude are necessary to achieve a better world. I respect the beliefs of others, but for me, there is a direct relationship between the evils of the world with the disconnection of man from God. Without a guide, we end up lost.

Thank you for sharing your nice thoughts.

I couldn't agree more. We need to be able to look at things through each other's eyes in order to have mutual understanding of each other's struggles and views. Which, in my humble opinion, is the key to creating a better world.

Thanks for reading.
