This Is Why You Never Dump

Looking back

I have been actively involved in the cryptocurrency game since 2017, and even though I am certainly not one of the very early adopters, I have had many opportunities to make money. But when I say 2017, I mean it was the year when I started trading, watching the market, blogging and reading tons of articles regarding the cryptocurrency industry and the ways in which it can change our lives for the better. To be perfectly honest I joined in for the money, as I always believed it is the only way to make such big gains nowadays. And it will continue to be for decades.

Now, the truth is that I have been involved in mining activities since 2013, and it was the only thing related to the cryptocurrency ecosystem I knew and cared about back then. And that's because there was this friend of mine who was mining DOGE tokens back then, and just wouldn't stop shilling DOGE. I trusted him and decided to take part, so I started mining DOGE tokens without even knowing how or where to store them, or why I was doing it in the first place. I wasn't even curious to learn about Bitcoin back then, which was another huge mistake I made, but you can't change the past, so I don't mind anymore.

However, with Dogecoin it is an entirely different story, because I started accumulating DOGE in 2013 by playing video games and claiming faucet rewards, which was more like a video game that I used to play in my free time. I never expected those tokens to be of any real value, and I do remember that no one ever did. Even my friend who got me into DOGE wasn't very ambitious about it, and would say that it's just a fun hobby and you never know and stuff. I had literally zero expectations, but a few years later it climbed up to the $0.0001 mark. By then I had already accumulated more than 235,000 DOGE.

Terrible call

I realized that this internet money thingy I had been gathering was now worth $20. And like the foolish kid I was, I decided to dump 235k DOGE. That's right, I sold my stake for something like 20 USD just because I was excited that I could actually get something of real value from this internet money thingy, and thought that there was no reason to keep it around anymore. I know, ignorance and a lack of experience can be a terrible combination in life, and that's basically what happened to me. But it sure hurts to see the recent price surge and realize how big of a mistake it actually was.

Now I know that some of you may think that there is no way of knowing what the future holds, so you never know whether it's actually a good or bad decision to sell your stake, and I would agree. However, dumping such a massive stake for literally nothing is an absolutely terrible decision, because the 6-digit scale means that little price swings can potentially bring thousands of USD in profits. Did I really need those 20 bucks back in the day? Of course not! Then why did I decide to sell such a massive amount of tokens for it? I really don't know.

Do not make the same mistake I did; be patient and hold your crypto. They are going up eventually anyway, so there is no reason to be in a hurry to sell and dump. You will most likely regret it down the road if you do, like I regret having dumped 235k DOGE which could have bought me 30 BCH today. Then again it might keep going up for the next few days, so you never know. In that case, people who take massive profits today will regret it tomorrow, but that's just the game and how it all works. You just never know.

Pay the price

What I do know is that it hurts waking up to those green signs and indices, and to all the hype around Dogecoin at the moment, and it serves as a reminder of a terrible mistake I made in the past because I was too young and ignorant. And this is the main reason why I decided to share this information and rub salt into my wounds by typing these lines. I don't want you to make the same mistake I did back then with DOGE. Do not dump your tokens, do not panic sell during the bear market, and do not lose your hope. The way the market has been performing since 2009, you can only lose by selling during the dips and not willing to wait a few more years.

I've said it before and I will say it again: the cryptocurrency industry is still in its infacy stage and has a bright future ahead. The blockchain technology is here to revolutionize the way we perform transactions on a global scale, and the powers that be are already starting to realize and accept this. Believe me when I say that 12 years after the birth of Bitcoin we are still in the early stages of the game, so the train is at the station, waiting for you and me. Too late? Absolutely not. The vast majority of internet users do not know a thing about cryptos yet. Just wait another decade and see what kind of gains you will enjoy.

I learned my lesson and shall never make the same mistake again. There are no excuses anymore. Back then I thought it was all just about money and returns, but now I do realize that there's a lot more to it. Cryptography is a powerful weapon we can now use to defend our fundamental rights and keep the government in check, and the revolutionary peer to peer transaction systems available empower humanity to evolve and move in the right direction. In the direction of liberty and justice.

Of course my terrible mistake is a bitter pill to swallow, but I've realized that there's no reason to worry about the past as it can't be changed, so I'm in a really good place and you shouldn't worry about me. I'm fortunate enough to have made money in the cryptoverse, and my holdings are now looking better than ever. I have plenty of moon bags that will provide me with the level of financial freedom I desire in the next 5 years. And even if it's 10 years, I can wait. I'm young, healthy, ambitious and armed with patience.

I wish you the same, and hope you will learn from my mistakes without having to suffer the consequences tied to them. This is the reason why I keep sharing my personal views and experiences; this way I can share the knowledge I've acquired through my mistakes. If you made it this far just know that I'm grateful you took the time to read this post, and hope you learned a thing or two. Have a good one and see you around.

I appreciate your attention,
