When we talk about women, the word "soft" or "fragile" is the first thing that would pop-up in our mind. Innate in women is the vulnerability on their physique.

The reason why they are treated differently as we travel back to the ancient times because of gender disparities. Also, it came to a norm back then that women were just meant to be married and give birth, moreover, they were clasped to slavery and had even taken advantage during wars. But time can really be our friend sometimes, cause as years went by, the chasm between gender inequality were gradually ruined by such noble women who finally stood their ground for feminism. In such case, they had slowly unfolded the blindfolds clench in the eyes of fellow women who failed to see their real worth and eccentric capabilities. As Evelina Galang quoted, "Every war is a war on women."

A true story published by Lila Pilipina (2019) of a Filipina piqued my interest. Maria Rosa Henson was one of the victims who experienced the cruelty of the foreign soldiers before. She said that she was only gathering some firewood in the beginning of the war when a Japanese soldier appeared and raped her. She joined the HUKBALAHAP afterwards and positioned as a messenger for guerillas but she was caught during her mission. There, she was raped again 10 to 20 times with different Japanese soldiers. Fortunately, she was rescued by her comrades from the said organization. Suffered from that great examplar of adversity, she then file lawsuit and fought for justice and indemnity for Japanese wartime sex slave. She released a book Comfort Woman: Slave of Destiny and said that remembering is the best revenge. That is just one of the reasons why most of women who posses the ability to use their voice to fight for their rights emerged from the darkness and spread light to overcome that heart-shattering circumstance.

Consequently, many feminist movements was established from then on and one of it are the Philippine Women's Movement and the Organization of Women for Freedom (Women and War, 2019). These were established in 1981 and 1983 respectively, which are the first groups to declare autonomy from the nationalist movement. As a matter of fact, due to the benefits of the movements established that is not only here in the Philippines, there are many articles that aims to highlight the outstanding pursuits and participation of women in the battlefield. In Canada, many women were said to replace their men who joined Canadian Armed Forces and left for overseas during the Work War II and the article stated that their still meel was mostly manned by women (Brown, 1944). Canadian governments also used to to send into combat during war and put them in the frontline combat (Molly, 1989).

Nothwithstanding, even after wars women continue to fight for justice and their rights till now (Woman and War, 2019). As we can perceive in our society today, women are able to do things that men can do and the rights that was usurp from them before was given back. If you can notice, we can now see some female soldiers or police wherever we are. Women may be made with tenderness, softness and fragility, but they are made to be strong inside. They are born to be an exceptional fighter and if you may see a woman struggling yet fighting in her own battle alone, bear in mind that every war is a war on women.
