Yes! Besides the soil and the fish meal, the rest showing in this picture, were recycled items!
Wait... what do you mean "recycled items?"
You don't tell me the plant is also recycled?
Yep.
The seed was extracted from a store bought capsicum, the "pot" was reused Matcha Green Tea 3-1 sachet, and the holder is from a used yogurt drink bottle.
So I can say, 80% of the picture above is a recycle item!
The awareness between my Garden Chronicles and One Less Junk on Earth journey continues; not because I worship the Earth, no sir, I don't, however I want to see if urban gardening with tiny space, big fruitfulness along with reducing buy-and-throw mentality can be part of the modern culture for young people beyond consumerism or not.
However, I AM a true believer because of my faith, I am entrusted to be responsible for whatever I consume from the Earth; and if it is possible to bring life out along the way with my limited "green hands" knowledge, why not?
How far have I achieved?
This journey takes a lot of experiment still; but as an Asian consumer in an 365 ever green country (occasionally with drought, haze and monsoon), it could work if sunlight available, and daily watch out for pests, and using the right stuffs to (not overly) feed your plant.
I have tried different seeds and different replanting, but it has not been an easy journey. Even with my parents constantly doing YouTube research (which I am so proud of them being over 70s and finally becoming savvy in technology), we couldn't get a lot of things working properly either.
Finally...
After months of trial and testing, one discovery from advise, this is what I got...
Some of the other plants I tested with the same method are showing signs of fruitfulness!
And after chopping off the tip of the plant twice... yes, you need to be brave to chop off the top of the plant in order for it to grow branches or even flowering... you will see results.
I am however thinking should I start logging from its seeding journey to fruiting journey for your reading pleasure.
What do you think?
Would love to read your thoughts in the comments below! 😁
So what is happening to the Capsicum?
Let's see will it survive the full cycle till fruiting or not! 🤞
Nice article
