Koinos, One of the Easiest "Pre-mining" for N00bs?

Hey everyone,

Just a shout out that I am helping one of the people I knew for their existence for a while, but got to know them in person when I was in Steemfest 4 in Bangkok 2019

If those who has known about the Steem blockchain, you will know that it had a really huge roller coaster ride to the point we (as in myself and the community we build together in Malaysia) were worried about their well being, and those who followed the drama saga , you will know the developers hung their cape and left the engine room.

You also know that the witnesses who supported the STEEM blockchain created a replica of the original and called it HIVE, however, with still the current staking and upvotes, though it's really good if curators favours really good content creators (including in the STEEM blockchain which is now predominantly occupied by Asian regional writers - and mind you, some of them who are just mere users like myself really do have great content writing just in Mandarin - yes, I can read and write Mandarin even as a Malaysian) it is still pretty dandy for the proof of brain to continue to work well harmoniously.

Well, that is , in an ideal situation.

Because the drama saga still continues from time to time. But that should be on another segment, and I'm too tired to keep tract with such unnecessary qualms.

However

Just on 13 October 2020, the same Steem developers who worked really hard on the steem blockchain which I personally loved and worked hard with community building and content creation for 3 years back then, has created something seems to be seamlessly easy to pre-mine a crypto that could change the way how people can mine, I believe it is similar to proof of works, but a lot easier and supposedly lower PC capacity friendly. I personally have not tried and see if it is actually 32bit friendly or not, but so far, on a laptop of mine with i7 processor (that's more than 2 years old) did not give out any error messages.

Interface looks pretty straight forward, and no, you do not need to invest on anything at all you do need to invest at the most minimum, which I am testing with $1 USD worth of ETH with a minimal gas fee except including your curiosity to see if it works; because the mainnet won't be launched until a few month's time.

But I know them. They will work hard to get it to the mainnet. It could take a little longer than a few months, but they could get it there.

Yes, as in the head of my community has known them for years, and it was fun getting to know the rest of the core team last year in person.

Will this revolution really works? No referrals, just testing together. And you can actually find it in GitHub , and so far, a 64 bit Windows 10 and an old OS Windows Server 2012 works so far.

Currently there isn't much to observe except knowing that you use the ETH address that they have created for their test net and like the days of STEEM, if you loose your password and your 12 words phrasing. It's goodbye to your wallet.

I do have a higher GPU PC that I could test on, but I'll leave it to my colleagues to test them out should they choose to test it.

Will it be a bomb when it launches, that would change the history of how people use the coin later?

Honestly, I do not know

But what I DO know is that if you have a normal laptop you could actually get it working; and who knows? Maybe it would go to the moon.

At least I know it runs passively in the background, and I do not need others to tip me for it.

A little bit like PI, but this one requires a physical computation power I believe to get it.

What I am taking away from this is:

  • I do not need to have A LOT OF hardisk space to run this nifty little program.

  • I don't need to wait for hours to synchronise data to cold storage like Amoury for BTC test mining as far back as 2013.

  • It is really like what Andrew mentioned, pretty much seamless installation and different OS available, including Mac, Windows and Linux.

  • You do however need some dough in order to receive the token because of the ETH gas fee.

Yeah, N00b friendly so far.

Probably until mainnet starts. haha.

How about you? Will you be curious enough to download from the GitHub to try it?

Welcoming your thoughts and discussion

Last but not least, reminiscing the good times at Steemfest before it all went sideways. I missed the crazy bunch of happy people.

Unfortunately not so nice when every transition might require 0.01 ETH
