Whenever there's some news about a new smartphone released from a Chinese company you're guaranteed to see comments like and if you are one of these people in these comments well hello friends this video is for you so what is the deal with these smartphones from Chinese brands well for one they can be cheap and I don't mean cheap as in there of inferior quality necessarily but cheap as in literally cheaper as in they cost less perhaps the best example of this is a brand we all know Xiaomi Xiaomi is a regular disruptor of the smartphone landscape but all segments of the market be it with entry-level phones mid-range phones or even flagship phones I'm sure pretty much anyone has heard of the poco phone f1 at this point yeah xiaomi was behind that product and you might be arguing that it was cheap because what it did have the flagship integrals and good cameras it had a non premium build an IPS screen but this is a rare occasion look at phones like the redmi 9 or the redmi Pro series these are bonafide flagships with fancy features like AMOLED screens pop up cameras and wireless charging while still being tens of thousands of pesos cheaper than the iPhones and Samsung Galaxy S and notes of the world but that's not to say that there aren't super premium expensive flagship smartphones from Chinese companies either in the era of thousand-dollar and above smartphones it's not just Papa Sami and Big Apple we also have Broadway whose flagship P series and mate series have also become some of the most expensive phones you can get your hands on typically showing up the rest of the industry with tons and tons of camera features among other things but it's not just one way though you may or may not have heard of the Chinese industry giant DK electronics if you haven't heard of them but you've definitely heard of their brands Oppo vivo oneplus and realme yeah these guys are under the same umbrella company despite competing against one another each of these brands serves either particular segments of the market like how oneplus used to focus on flagship killers but it's now more of a premium brand or real me catering to a younger audience or even Oppo and vivo leading the charge with innovative features like super book charging pop-up cameras or in display fingerprint scanners while still selling smart phones at the mid-range and entry-level segments the truth is a lot of good things can be said about the hardware side of Chinese smartphones whether its innovative view features premium design or low price markups but of course we gotta talk about software depending on where or how you acquire your Chinese smartphone it may come pre-loaded with a China wrong simply put the version of the OS built specifically for the Chinese market and this may pose some challenges to the end-user such as the system language being set the Chinese by default or not having the Google Play Store pre-installed if you do happen to get a form of the Chinese ROM you will have to actually flash the global ROM so you get access to the features you're used to such as the Google Play Store but in the case of Huawei their latest phones despite having the global versions available don't officially support the Google Play Store we've covered that topic quite a lot already so we won't really get into it but the elephant in the room that we need to address.

Security

Security are you really more vulnerable if you use a Chinese smartphone well if you've been around the internet long enough you've certainly seen reports that would suggest it's unsafe but the truth is despite this there is no conclusive and all be all evidence that using a Chinese smartphone immediately puts you at risk any phone no matter what brand or no matter what country of origin can be compromised and a reasonable chunk of the risk can definitely be attributed to user negligence like downloading apps from sketchy third-party websites now employing proper security measures like two-factor authentication and such and even if you could argue that you're using a non Chinese smartphone so you claimed you're not at risk what makes you think that the other devices your phone is interacting with or not Chinese made such as the equipment in South hours Wi-Fi routers computer your car's Bluetooth system and more what I'm saying is at best it's likely that your data is generally safe if you decide to use a Chinese smartphone end up worst you aren't really that much safer if you go for a Korean or American Branded smartphones Chinese smartphones might not have the best reputation because of certain unfortunate situations but that doesn't mean you can't find one little suit your needs, broaden your horizon research and look past the stigma but still remain vigilant and intelligent about your smartphone purchasing process and that about wraps up this article now guys what are your thoughts about Chinese smartphones? leave them in the comments down below.
