The reasons why I chose to buy another Summoner's SpellBook

Splinterlands is my favourite blockchain-based game and writing posts about Splinterlands is something I like and enjoy.

Several months ago I created a secondary account for the purpose of optimising SPT token accumulation.

The account is @libertygame27 (on Hive blockchain) and with this account I do not publish posts but only vote for posts with the tags splinterlands and spt.

Today I decided to buy the Summoner's Spellbook for my alt account which, as of today, in addition to being a curation account also becomes a Splinterlands game account.

Why did I buy another Summoner's Spellbook?

There are two main reasons:

- the future Splinterlands Airdrop concerning SPS tokens

- the opportunity to see how quickly the initial cost (10$) can be recouped just by playing and without investing any more capital.

First reason: the airdrop of SPS tokens

Since I started using the @libertygame27 account I have accumulated about 79000 SPT tokens from my activity of curating posts with the spt and splinterlands tags.

SPT tokens have a value in HIVE determined by supply and demand on the Hive Engine/LeoDex/TribalDex sites but will also have a future added value because in the next SPS token Airdrop (scheduled for end of July) they will be worth 0.25 points (see image below).

According to the calculations of the useful tool "SPS AIRDROP CALCULATEDR" at https://www.splintercards.com/tool-sps-airdrop.html the 79000 SPT tokens staked by my secondary account will allow me to receive 3-4 SPS tokens per day, 1129-1580 SPS tokens in a year (estimated number of tokens).

The problem is that the SPS tokens will only be distributed daily for the duration of about a year to Splinterlands players who have purchased the Summoner Spelbook.

By buying the Spellbook I made my curation account eligible for the next Splinterlands airdrop.

The possible alternative was to:

- start the unstake operation of the SPT tokens owned by the @libertygame27 account

- transfer them to my main account

- delegate them from my main account to my curation account.

I discarded this alternative because for a whole year I would have had to repeat the steps listed above many times.

Today I exchanged comments and considerations with @revise.spt who is in the same situation as me.

@revise.spt has chosen not to buy the Summoner Spelbook and his choice is just as correct and perhaps more logical than mine.

In fact in all likelihood it is not worth spending $10 just to receive a few more SPS tokens.

In fact no one can predict the value of the new SPS tokens and spending $10 could probably be the wrong choice.

But the main reason that made me decide to buy another Summoner Speelbook was mainly another one and it is related to my activity of promotion of Splinterlands on sites outside Hive.

In fact, I share my Splinterlands posts on some centralised sites such as Publish0x, read.cash, noise.cash and Twitter.

For example, when I publish my monthly Splinterlands report showing my profit and ROI I often get questions like:

*If I sign up for Splinterlands how quickly do I recover the $10 sign-up fee?

My answer to this question is always the same: the registration fee is recovered in a very short time if you participate in the weekly contests that @splinterlands organizes on Hive.

In fact, by participating in 2 to 5 contests you can easily recover the cost of registration (the number of contest entries needed to recover the cost of registration depends on the quality of the posts published).

Those who participate assiduously in the weekly Splinterlands contests can certainly confirm what I have just written.

However, some people don't like writing posts and just want to play.

And that is the second and main reason why I invested 10$ to buy a Summoner Spelbook.

Second Reason: Answer the following question:

How quickly can you recoup the entry fee just by playing without participating in the weekly contests?

Thanks to my new game account, I will be able to answer this question as well and I will be able to see how long it takes while having fun.

To recap, with the account @libertygame27:

- I will continue to curate posts with the tags spt and splinterlands but from today I will also use it to play games.

- I will do all the daily quests and start from 0.

- until i recover the $10 entry fee I will not be delegating any cards from @libertycrypto27 to @libertygame27.

- obviously i won't participate with my secondary account in contests and giveaways: it wouldn't be fair!

Basically I'll be playing as a new player who starts playing Splinterlands but has no money available to invest other than the initial $10.

Libertygame27: First day of play report

Today right after paying the registration fee I played and completed my first daily mission: win 5 battles using summoner cards from the Life element.

With the purchase of the Spelbook, I received 30 cards including two summoner cards of the Life element from Splinterlands:

- Tyrus Paladium

- Mother Khala

I completed the daily mission after 9 battles: 5 won and 4 lost.

From my first battle I won 0.003 DEC which is very little compared to the DEC I earn on my main account: 29 - 39 DEC per battle won.

I finish the daily mission with a balance of 0.153 DEC tokens.

I receive a chest and I'm lucky because I immediately find a card: Undead Rexx.

The profit I got in the first day of the game is 0.04$ which corresponds to 0.4% of the registration cost.

Dear reader, how long do you think it will take me to recoup the entry fee?

I hope you liked this post and I thank you for taking the time to read it :)

Not a Splinterlands player?

If you are not a Splinterlands player, you are missing out on a unique opportunity to have fun while earning cards and DEC.

If you decide to register, you can do so from this link:

Of course if you'd like to use my refferal link... :)

If you use a refferal link when registering for Splinterlands you have the following advantage:

Splinterlands is a great game but it has also proven to be a good investment (at least so far) and if you regularly participate in the weekly contests organized by the @splinterlands account you will recoup the cost of registration in a few weeks.

Any game that allows you to buy cards and tokens is never just a game, it is also an investment.

I am not a financial advisor and my advice is not financial advice, it is just my personal opinion based on my experience.

If you decide to invest in the Splinterlands game you do so at your own choice and risk.

See you on the Splinterlands battlefields.
