End of Season Considerations + End of Season Reward + DEC value

Hello friends of read.cash,

Splinterlands is my favorite decentralized game.

Splinterlands has an entry fee of $10 but this cost is quickly recouped because Splinterlands offers so many ways to earn rewards:

- Weekly contests: every week there are two contests and based on the quality of the posts you receive two upvotes.

- Giveaway on Hive blockchain and on Twitter

- Trivia Challenge on Telegram (prize in cards)

- Free tournaments with prizes in DEC (Non Fungible Token of Splinterlands)

- Daily reward for completing the daily mission (possible prizes: DEC, Potions and Cards)

- End of season reward (every 15 days).

Depending on your game rating you receive a certain number of chests. Each chest can contain one of the following rewards: DEC, Potion, Card.

February 15, 2021 marked the end of another season of Splinterlands.

I finished the season in Diamond I league with a rating of 3458 points and ranked number 160 in the Diamond rankings.

In the previous season I had made it to the Diamond II league but had done slightly more battles (304).

This season I have completed 289 battles with a winrate of 60.55%.

I have been a Splinterlands player for 16 months and have completed a total of 8434 battles with a winrate of 54.94%, so in the last two seasons I have improved my total winrate.

The Diamond I league has a Power score of at least 400000 points as an entry requirement.

My card collection has a Power score of just over 200000 points.

On the last day of the season that just ended, I rented 15 cards from the https://peakmonsters.com/ market that allowed me to surpass 400000 power points and enter the Diamond I league.

The cards I rented are as follows:

- Spirit of the Forest, Alpha, Level 3

- The Kraken, Reward, Level 4

- Medusa, Beta, Level 6

- Cerberus, Beta, Level 8

- Electric Eels, Promo, Level 8

- Halfling Alchemist, Promo, Level 4

- Lord Arianthus, Reward, Level 3

- Magnor, Untamed, Level 4

- Gold Dragon, Beta, Level 4

- Elemental Phoenix, Beta, Level 3

- Diamond Dragon, Untamed, Level 4

- Darius High Priest, Untamed, Level 4

- Kobold Miner, Alpha, Gold, Level 8

My rental strategy

My rental strategy was as follows:

- I chose the cards that were most useful in battle (especially legendary cards)

- I only chose cards that had a rental contract with Termination Escrow equal to 0.

A rental contract that has Termination Escrow equal to 0 does not provide any penalty in case of early termination of the contract.

As soon as the season ended, I terminated all current contracts and spent a total of $0.45.

With a spend of $0.45 I increased my power score by 200000 points.

My Goal for the current season

In the recently concluded season I did not reach the rating score of 3700 points to access the Champion III league.

The access to the Champion III league was the goal that I had set at the beginning of the season and even if I did not reach this goal I came very close and I stopped a few points.

For this reason for the current season I have decided to try again to reach the Champion III league.

Reaching the Champion III league would be a great satisfaction.

Now let me show you the end of season reward I got.

***

My end of season reward

The reward for finishing the season in Diamond I league corresponds to a total of 60 chests.

In the following image you can see the cards I found in the chests.

I found 23 cards out of 60 chests.

The chests can hold three types of rewards: Cards, DECs, Potions.

So the probability of finding a card in each chest is 1/3, so I was quite lucky because I found 23 cards instead of the average 20 likely.

However, I was less lucky because of the type and value of the cards found.

The most valuable card I found is Pyromancer which has a market value of $0.200 and a conversion value to DEC of 200.

Pyromancer is a very good card:

- it has a good attack (2)

- Has one of my favorite abilities: Blast.

I already had 3 Pyromancer cards in my deck and now I have a total of 4 and I'm 6 more cards away from boosting Pyromancer to level 3 to increase his attack by one.

The total value of the cards I found inside the chests is 1,156$

DEC and Potions

I also found 16 Potions and a total of 216 DEC tokens.

Today, February 18, 2021, 216 DEC equals the value of 0.513 HIVE (Highest BID on LeoDex/HiveEngine).

As you can see from the calculations shown in the image below the dollar value is 0.16 $

Looking at the graph in the following image the DEC tokens seem to have lost value in the last 18 days but this is not the case if we consider the dollar value.

In fact the value in dollars has grown even if only slightly compared to February 1, 2021, what has changed is the relationship with the value of HIVE that (fortunately) has almost tripled ;)

In fact on February 1st I found in the coffers a total of 176 DEC whose value was $0.11.

Today 176 DEC have the value of 0,13$.

Conclusion

I'm going to do some calculations now:

- total card rental cost: 0,45 $

- value of cards found in chests: 1,156 $

- total value of DEC tokens found in the chests: 0,16 $

The total profit was - $0.45 + $1.156 + $0.16 = 0.866 $.

A somewhat disappointing reward especially considering the fact that I had a profit in line with the previous season where however I opened 50 chests instead of the 60 chests of the last season ended.

But as I point out every time I share my end-of-season reward, Splinterlands is a fun game that rewards its players for playing and so any reward is always good ;)

What traditional, centralized game rewards you for playing?

The answer is obvious: none!

Haven't you registered on Splinterlands yet?

You are missing out on a more unique than rare opportunity to enjoy yourself and at the same time to earn tokens and cards.

Splinterlands is a beautiful game but it is above all an excellent investment (my personal opinion) especially if you regularly participate in the weekly contests organized by the @splinterlands account.

If you are not yet registered on Splinterlands and have decided to register, you can do it from this link:

obviously if you like to use my refferal link ...

If you use a refferal link you have the following advantage:

See you on the Splinterlands battlefields.
