Random Facts about my Country, Philippines!!!!

-Our country once colonized by Spanish for almost 333 years, thats why when you wonder around Manila, especially Intramuros, you can see structures that had influence of Spaniards.

-Our flag can be change, as you can see our flag, has blue on top and red at the bottom but during Spanish-Filipino and Filipino-American war, the red color is in the top while the blue is in bottom, it means that if our country is in state of war, the color red will appear on top while if our country is at peace the blue color will appear at the top.

-The three stars on our flag symbolize the three islands of Philippines, Luzon, Panay and Mindanao, there are misconception about these three flags because many people knows that it was Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao but the truth is Panay is the original name of Visayas.

-The next one is the 8 sun rays in our Flag, its not just a simple design because those 8 sun rays symbolize those places who fought against Spaniards.

-Our First President is Emilio Aguinaldo, on June 12, 1898, Emilio Aguinaldo declared the independence of Philippines and at that time he declared himself as a president of dictatorial government. But did you know that Emilio seek help from Americans while he was exiled to Hongkong, and he succeed to convince Americans to help him but in return the Philippines is under American Colonization, many heroes fought for freedom of Philippines.

Enough with the history let's go now to current timeline in which I story is no longer involved, let's start with the uniqueness of Philippines among the world. Did you know that Philippines has the only unique way of transportation and that is JEEPNEY'S, actually jeepney is originally came from Americans but when the war ends, those car they left has been modified by Filipinos and thats we calling today as Jeepney, it is the best transportation here on Philippines because its capacity can suit more than 20 people, even the roof the jeepney can be occupied and the fee is cheap as low as 10 pesos.

-Did you know that Philippines has most people who use Facebook, yes its true according to studies it shows that many Filipinos are using Facebook and it reaches millions of users. Another fact about Philippines is it is the Selfie Capital of the World, as you can see most Filipinos love to take selfie and Makati City is the Selfie Capital of the World because many people are going there just to take a selfie and photos.

-Another fact about my country is we have beautiful tourist spots around the Philippines from Luzon to Mindanao, there are lots of beautiful places to tour, some of our famous tourist attraction is Baguio City in which I was there once and I can say that it's very cold there and you can enjoy your vacation there because there are lots of tourist attraction there especially the Burnham Park which is popular for people. We also have Boracay Beach in which last year it was renovate and now it was already open but due to pandemic it was restricted and only locals can enjoy the beach but I know if the Covid-19 will gone, Boracay Beach will be famous again and many tourist will try to visit it. We have also, Manila Bay, last year Manila bay was also renovated and if you try to visit it, it is now full of artificial white sand and it is a perfect view for a selfie. There are lots of tourist spots located here on Philippines and I can't say it all because all of them are one of a kind.

-We have also two tourist attraction that is part of 8 wonders of the World, the Banaue Rice Teracces located in Ifugao and Underground River located at Palawan.

-But the most thing you'll like about this country is what we called Filipino Hospitality, everytime there's a visitor on our house, we give them comfort and feel them at-home and show them kindness, you can also see smiles on our faces and hears the laughters of Filipinos even though we're struggling in a difficult situation, its a Filipino spirit that no matter how problems come in your life, stay strong and just smile those problems. Especially, now that there's a pandemic you can witness the what we called "Bayanihan" in which Filipinos are working together to help others whose struggling from this pandemic. There are lots of facts about this country and I hope you'll visit this someday once this crisis will gone because I can assure you that once you visit this country, you will just say "I wish I was born this country".
