Halloween is approaching. So This Topic for today has just popped out in my mind.

There are many famous delicacies here in Cebu. And some of them are served during Halloween.

As part of our Filipino Culture every Halloween we never forget to put an offering for our dead loved ones.

And I remembered when I was young. I'm always waiting for the time to reach 8 pm.

We will light a candle outside there is also in the table and in our Altar together with the offering.

My Grandmother will always tell us to wait for the Dead spirits to eat first haha. So that was the Beliefs and Culture which has passed through generation.

And today let me introduced you to some famous delicacies here in Cebu that we usually eat.

So let's begin our Food trip...

Chicharon

Chicharon is made from pork rinds. Boiled, air dried, and deep-fried.

The most delicious and famous Chicharon is made from Carcar Cebu. They had the Best Chicharon ever. Very Crispy and very tasteful.

Some Chicharon has pork meat and much expensive than the ordinary. Tourists who come in here, always visit Carcar just to buy the famous Chicharon.

Chicharon can be eaten directly and enjoy its crispiness. Or you can dip it in spicy vinegar. I'm drooling right now.

Chicharon has a spicy flavor too. So it's double hotness when you choose spicy flavored Chicharon then dip in spicy vinegar. Too much spicy but it's delicious.

Ampaw (Rice Krispies)

Look at the picture above. Did you see a color white rectangular form? It is beside the Chicharon. That is called Ampaw.

Haha, I guess not. It depends on the dead's favorites what we should put as an offering. The Living is the one who likes sweets. If the dead like peanuts when she is alive. We put peanuts as an offering just like that.
