CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Conclusions
After making the antiseptic sprays out of siling labuyo (Caosicum frutescens) and experimentation the researchers have come up to the following conclusions.
Based on the experiment, it has proven that the produced antiseptic sprays with 20% and 25% concentrations of siling labuyo (Capsicum frutescens) are effective as antiseptic for abrasion. On the other hand, the produced antiseptic spray with 15% concentration of siling labuyo (Capsicum frutescens) fruits is not effective as antiseptic for abrasion since its efficacy is just the same as the control group treated with distilled water.
The antiseptic sprays were made through herbal decoction process. The concentration of siling labuyo that can best heal an abrasion is twenty-five percent (25%). It has also found out that there is a significant difference in using these five treatments meaning the treatments effectiveness varies/different from each other.
The efficacy of treatment with 25% concentration is equal to the efficacy of betadine. Treatment with 20% concentration of siling labuyo fruits is also effective but less effective compare to treatment with 25% concentration. On the other hand, the efficacy of treatment with 15% concentration of siling labuyo fruits is just the same to the efficacy of treatment in the control group meaning it’s not effective at all.
Recommendations
The researchers recommend to:
a. to search and add a substance that would lessen the hot sensation of siling labuyo antiseptic spray without altering its effectiveness;
b. to search and add a substance that would lessen the odor of siling labuyo antiseptic spray without altering its effectiveness;
c. to compare the siling labuyo spray to other antiseptic products;
d. to determine the expiration date of siling labuyo antiseptic spray;
e. to determine what specific compound in siling labuyo that inhibits the growth of bacteria; and
f. to determine the toxicity level of the produced antiseptic spray
