Creativity in children

Many parents assume that creativity is an innate talent that their children have or do not have, but in fact creativity is more of a skill.

What we inherit is a series of opportunities, and it is up to us to provide maximum support to our children in developing their potential.

It is important to recognize that creativity is not general. The same child may be creative in one area (e.g. math or history), but may not be creative in other areas (e.g. music or sports).

First of all, the parent must be aware of the meaning of creativity itself and provide the child with maximum support. For example, if your child enjoys drawing and art expression, do everything you can to encourage him or her to develop his or her creative potential even more.

Adapt the space to children's creativity - a corner in the apartment, choose a set of pencils, brushes, paints, art folders, canvases…

Highlight his drawings, put them in a visible place. Let him know how proud you are of him.

Children must have the opportunity to be confident and their own

Let them create their own ideas and explanations for things. It helps nurture self-expression.

Simple indoor or outdoor research activities can help us with this, which you can design very easily and simply.

For example, the search for something is always interesting for children, and can be supplemented with various questions and puzzles, of course all on a topic that is interesting to the child.

Also, exposure to nature increases creativity and the desire to explore.

Often parents may encounter a situation where the child is sad or disappointed because he thinks he has not fully fulfilled his primary expectation regarding the creative task, but then we have to explain to him that everything is fine and that mistakes are an integral part of all skills.

In this way, children learn that mistakes exist but can also be corrected, and that we learn through them.

Encourage children to be creative through play

Children are our wonders with big and powerful fantasies, and creativity offers a large amount of intellectual, emotional and health benefits.

Help children carry out their passions. Pay attention to your child's interests and make materials and activities available.

Join your child as he draws, plays guitar, makes a robot…

Take your child to the museum, visit the library together, encourage him at trainings and competitions.

Also, take time for your own creativity, as children learn from watching their parents see how you enjoy some of their hobbies, homework or sports.

Children are not born with an innate level of creativity so it develops by looking at you as a parent and learning from you.

Creativity also helps children be safer, develop social skills and learn better. Allow them to develop the skill of creative activities, be their support and support at all times but do not try to motivate them with rewards and various incentives.

Instead of rewarding your child for playing the piano, for example, allow him to do something he enjoys more - perhaps sitting at his desk, studying books about various planets, the universe, galaxies.

By no means, but by no means impose your ambitions on children. Do not tell them what would be best for them, but give them the freedom to explore their own ideas and desires, and to do what they love and want.

Forcing a child to a certain activity can only have a counter-effect where the child will "do" something just because the parent expects it from him or thinks it is best for him, and deep down he will be dissatisfied.

Regardless of the fact that, say, grandfather and father are football players, the child is an individual for himself, so we need to approach him and support him in what he loves and what makes him happy, even if it is not football in this case.

Creativity and a touch-sensitive generation

Nowadays, modern technologies and generations of touch-sensitive generations very often restrict children's access to the use of tablets or computers, believing that these devices restrict them.

However, this does not have to be the case. There are apps that allow children to write, paint, solve puzzles, or make music, all of which encourage children’s learning and level of creativity.

Try to stop worrying about what your children are achieving, what the goal result is in their creativity, but put the emphasis on the very process that makes your child happy.

Creativity fosters the ability to solve problems, innovate and explore new and unfamiliar areas.

It is a hallmark of genius that leads to success in the world of art, science and technology.

Children who are encouraged to think creatively show greater self-esteem and motivation. Creativity is a key component of health and happiness and basic skills for exercising with children.

Creativity is not limited to artistic and musical expression - it is also essential for science, mathematics, and even social and emotional intelligence.

Creative people are more flexible and better at solving problems, which makes them better able to adapt to technological advances and deal with change - as well as take advantage of new opportunities, so we encourage our children to be creative.
