Some instructive verses from the Holy Quran, which will be useful in our educational life
Depression is a very common term among college and university students. Its Bengali meaning is depression. We call it upset. If there is no success in any work, we are actually upset. In the so-called familiar language we go into depression. Is that really so? Or do we deliberately suffer from depression to keep pace with the present age? Depression is an emotional mental illness. Mental illness in simple language. We get upset because of bad test results, parental discipline, quarrels with friends or loved ones. Then I say I am depressed to keep pace with the times.
Most of the time we do not choose the path of suicide while looking for a way to get rid of depression. Suicide has also become a fashion nowadays. However, suicide is forbidden in Islam.
‘You don’t kill yourself. Surely Allah is Merciful to you. '(Surat an-Nisa': 29)
There are some verses in the Qur'an where Allah has given us solutions to many mental problems. When we read these verses carefully, we are shocked. As we meditate on these verses over time, we find the strength to overcome our frustration, exhaustion, depression, sadness at not being able to do anything, anger at ourselves, envy at others, and the pain of losing a loved one. We are surprised to find that the solution to the problems we have been suffering from for so long is given in the Qur'an!
One such verse is:
Do you not know that Allah alone is the Lord of the heavens and the earth? There is no one to protect you except God, and there is no one to help you. [Al-Baqarah 106]
Life seems extra difficult? Can't stand it?
Allaah never burdens anyone beyond his means. Everyone is rewarded for what they have done well, and for what they have done badly. [Al-Baqarah 2:27]
Life is just hard, and hard? Nothing good?
With every hardship there must be relief in one way or another. No doubt, of course there is relief on the other side with every hardship. [Al-Inshirah 94: 5-6]
Just why are you with me ???
Do people think that they will be released without trial, because they say, "We are believers!" [Al-Ankabut 29: 2]
"I will test you with fear, hunger, loss of property, life and crops. Any calamity in life is a real calamity for those who patiently try and when in danger say," We belong to God. To God we will return. " Give them grace and peace from their Lord, and such are the people who are on the right path.
Life is full of despair?
Yet it is not possible to be hopeless. It is haraam to despair of Allah's mercy,
"Know for sure that no one can despair of the mercy of Allah except the disbelievers." - Surah Yusuf (12): 6
Above all,
- There is a lot of unrest in the mind? There is no peace in anything? Completely indifferent to life? There is no mental turmoil in anything?
-Then I will perform ablution, pray two rak'ats, raise my hand towards the sky, shed all tears, recite all my emotions, pride, troubles, troubles, problems, complaints to Allah, and recite this prayer.
Meaning: O God! You are peaceful, peace descends from you. You are the Blessed, the Mighty, the Glorious
I hope and pray that these verses will guide you if you ever suffer from depression.
