As far as you can see, in every TV series or Movies, protagonists in the story or in Filipino it is 'bida', they are attractive. All of their features were beautiful. I am not saying that I am against beautiful/handsome celebrities in every entertainment system, but the unattractive ones are underrated in the showbiz industry. If your nose isn't that pointy they will assign you instead to supporting roles or the antagonist. I am just saying that even in showbiz they base your roles from your physical feature. I know that some of the shows/movies must require attractive faces because that was based on the script. But, I haven't seen nowadays a celebrity who is the protagonist of the story who isn't attractive. And then recently, I watched an anime that made me clear. Inuyashiki, a story of a 58-year old father that was being disrespected by his family and has cancer. His life changes when something struck on Earth and his body turned from a life form into a weapon machine. His life became normal until there is someone who also happens to be the same as him but instead, he uses that weapon to kill in order to feel human again. The 58-year old father was the opposite of him, he tries to save someone in order to feel human again.
The story struck my heart that even if you are not attractive you can still be the protagonist, and that gave my thumbs up to the writer of that story. You see, many of the protagonists who aren't attractive are the ones who fall into the comedy entertainment. Why? Because their faces are funny enough to make the audiences laugh. In Inuyashiki, the 58-year old man is a hero and the attractive one became the antagonist of the story. I am not saying that we should change the stories with unattractive celebrities. I am just saying that we must give credit to the unattractive ones, not by giving them some comedy or enemy roles but sometimes we must give raise them up that even though they are not appealing to the audiences, they can give them some moral story that the unattractive viewers can also be a role model just like to protagonist.
