Nerf, paintball and airsoft are the most common means of entertainment through plastic weapons. An ad-on on this list is laser tag.The main advantages of laser tag over it competitors is the fact that a game can be more fair because of technology and there isn't the fear of losing plastic ammunation because as the name says they are laser weapons.
Over the past decade there was a increase in popularity of the 3d printing technology. As a result, more and more people had access to this technology, which allowed the creation of different objects through 3d modeling applications. One of the fields developed through 3d printing is the 3d printed nerf-like blasters industry. These blasters were created by the community through 3d printers. Then they can remixed by others.Sites like thingiverse provided prepared files of these guns,in order users can 3d print them,at many cases for free. But at some cases i have seen and 3d printed laser tag blasters programmed through arduino(open source electronics prototyping platform).
And here begins my idea.I thought that if people were 3d printing laser blasters instead of nerf-like blasters there would be many advantages.
*Laser tag blasters are more fair because of the technology behind them.In contact with nerf where cheating is easier.
*More friendly to the envirnonment, because who goes to find all the plastic bullets lost through the game. Also in laser tag the batteries used can be recharged through renewable energy sources.
*It provides new opportunities. For example there can be tanks in games installed with sensors and special 3d printed laser tag blasters. Also there can be and air-warfare and naval warfare. These two means are more dangerous. As for air warfare there could be drones, but if there are many drones there is the danger of privacy of the citizens out of the games. As a alternative i would suggest a glider plane. It can fly without engine,so there isn't the fear of the engine to fail or take fire. And also it can fit two people at some models.Furthermore, these weapons can be installed into the planes and community created ad-ons,will provide a realistic and satisfying expierence. While for naval there can be small electric engine powered ships at short range from land for more security and when sea is ''calm''.I would suggest naval and air only at big events for more security.
3d printing technology and open source devices such as arduino can provide many original and entertaining weapons and gadgets. If people can't 3d print these guns, there can be online shops where people can buy weapons and gadgets with cryptocurrencies for more security. Also 3d printed suits can be created from movies, shows, books etc for more satisfying experience.
The files for the 3d printed guns or gadgets, can be open source for more friendly interaction through creators, users for new ideas, improvements, modifications and for the creation of a ''healthy'' and stable community.
