Pride and Prejudice by the English writer Jane Austen, is one of the most beloved classic novels of all time. The author took 20 years before publishing it in 1813 as she did not consider him committed enough to the standards of the time, where the literature of her time was strongly based on the pedagogical and moral function. Elizabeth Bennet is pretty, bright, she is a perfect husband girl, but, unlike her sisters and bearded by her mother's advice, she does not crave to marry the first suitor. The protagonist, Elisabeth, is the expression of what the woman should be like for Jane Austen. Elizabeth has a dream: she wants to fall in love even though she knows that she is a real heresy for her times to marry the man she loves. It doesn't seem easy, but when Bennet shows up at the doorstep an interesting new neighbor, the younger Mr Darcy, the more he appears done, but the social barriers put them at odds.  On the one hand there is the pride of Darcy who suffers a terrible blow when he realizes that he is in love with a woman of lower class and with such little "worthy" kinship; on the other is Elisabeth's prejudice towards the man who at first considered her barely passable and who later asked her in marriage in such an offensive way.

Both, however, grow inwardly, believe and realize their own mistakes. He is handsome, intelligent, full of charm, yet things between the two fail to entrenque and between misunderstandings, gossip, mutual misunderstandings it seems that Lizzy and Darcy do not want to resign themselves to admit what their hearts have already perfectly understood. Elizabeth and Darcy, their families and the other characters in the novel represent every facet of the human soul: vivid, intelligent, wise, stubborn, conceited, fascinating, described in such detail that you can even understand its emotions and thoughts. Jane Austen is not just analyzing and representing the two main characters. The author describes the whole society of that period. The decent women had no work ambitions: the ladies spent time chatting, reading poems, writing letters, singing or playing the piano. Dancing was considered an important opportunity to find a husband. To have a respectable place in society, a woman had to marry a prestigious man. But for many women a good and "convenient" marriage was the only gimmick of their lives. People usually married someone in their class, strictly following the rigidity of the social classes, since getting married in a different class could create problems. For this, and for many other reasons, Pride and Prejudice is, and will remain, one of the most beloved novels by the public.
