The last frontier of the Old Continent overlooks Africa and the Atlantic: this is where Europe ends. The land is all behind it, in front of it and on each side there is only the sea. The sea breaks on the rocks between the ocean waves and flights of white, rough, deaf and hurried seagulls. The history of Lisbon starts from Praca do Commercio. The steps of the square lead to the river. The Tagus is the river that acts as a bridge between the city and the ocean. Caravels used to leave from there at the time of maritime discoveries when Lisbon was one of the living cities of Europe in the conquests overseas.

In Arabic, it preserves the grid of alleys and the coloured majolica tiles that cover the façades of the houses.

Lisbon is a little bit frivolous and flirtatious in the Belém district, with the tower all embroidered, as the Manueline style of the 16th century wanted.

In the evening, it moves around shiny and becomes a European metropolis, with trendy clubs frequented by fashionable young people.
