Planet Earth knew she was in trouble when humans start to exist. Even though she knew what will happen to her, she endured and sacrificed thousands of years of painful human development. She let mankind use all of her resources for free. But on the other hand, we, the humans keep on abusing her.
The day comes where she can't longer hold all the sufferings, climate change was born. Little by little, temperature rose to an alarming level which resulted in the gradual meltdown of polar ice caps in the northern and southern hemispheres. The ocean temperature was also affected resulting in stronger and harsher cyclones. As the giant chunks of ice were melted, the global sea level rose causing problem to those people living near coastal areas.
The main cause of climate change is the excessive CO2 emission of humans. Believe it or not, almost all human activities produce carbon dioxide. From washing dishes or just simply reading a book, we contribute to the increasing problem. This is because all the things we do or use requires energy, and to produce energy, we need to extract something. For instance, the soap we use in dishes and the book we read requires electricity to be produced. Electricity is made possible because of fossil fuels. Fossil fuels need to be burnt to generate electricity. As we all know, burning of fossil fuels is one of the main contributors to the excessive CO2 release into the atmosphere.
With this problem, trees are one of the seen solutions to lessen the CO2 in our air. But unfortunately, these nature's natural air purifiers are also abused by humans. According to The World Counts, from 2011-2015 about 20 million hectares of forest were cut down. This number continues to progress and from the year 2016, 28 million hectares of forest were already deforested.
World leaders and different institutions were helping each other to end this crisis. They implemented laws to reduce C02 emissions in the coming years, and stop illegal deforestation. Environment institutions also raise awareness of what is really happening and what to do to stop this.
In the Philippines, there is a Republic Act. No. 10690 or also known as "The Forestry Profession Act" An act regulating the practice of forestry in the Philippines and appropriating funds, therefore, repealing for the purpose republic act numbered six thousand two hundred thirty-nine (r.a. no. 6239), known as βthe forestry profession law."
Bitcoin Cash is also joining the fight to stop climate change! According to whybitcoincash.com, BCH is almost free to send. On every checkout, you can choose to help the planet.
This is a great move. Not just because it will spread awareness about BCH, but because it will convince everyone to adopt Bitcoin cash as a way of monetary transactions. If people will carry their transactions online, there will be no need to go outside and use a vehicle just to go to a payment center. No vehicle means no diesel. No diesel means no fossil fuel. No fossil fuel means less carbon dioxide. Less carbon dioxide means a healthier Earth. Imagine if millions of people decide to plant trees. How fresh the air will be.
Aside from Bitcoin Cash, Ecosia is one of the well-known organizations that helps to plant trees from the revenues they get from ads. So far, they planted 119, 735, 000+ trees which is very incredible! Basically, you just need to use their search engine to contribute.
