Dargavs is a small village located in the Republic of North Ossetia. This village is very famous for various archeological monuments. Many peoples believing that those who entered into the "CITY OF THE DEAD" in Russia North Caucasus region will never emerge alive.

It is believed that when an Cholera pandemic ruins the Caucasus the clans built quarantine houses for those sick members who were provided food but not the freedom to move until their death. In each crypt where an entire generations are buried.

On 19th century the local peoples of the nearby villages left the mountain valley and moved to the plains.

Until early 20th century nobody dared to open the crypts because they were afraid of releasing the diseases.

The most interesting facts is in front of every crypt there is a well that Ossentians would do this by dropping a coin into it if that coin hit the rock that meant that the soul has reached the heaven.

There are some myths about the cemetery one of the big tale is that any person who dared to walk would never come out alive. This is mainly one of the reasons that the local peoples almost never go there.

Russia has a lot of truly common places but these historic sites do not attract much attention. However, one spends some time in North Ossetia, they say its possible to feel the ancient vibes around the city and its surrounding area.
