Woman is defined as an adult female human being. The definition for women is very simple but we know that women are more than just an adult female being. Women have very significant role in the society that the other beings can’t fill in. There are very hard responsibilities that should be performed by them in which it includes to ensure the well-being of individuals especially their family. If she is a wife and a mother, she doesn’t only look for herself but also her husband and children. She has to give the needs of her family physically, emotionally, financially and other more. But not only in that matter, has women also performed a very important role in social, political, cultural, religious and economic manner.

Before, women are just inferior to men. The contribution of women to society is very limited due to discrimination and it is also controlled by men because before men have the authority and power and women don’t. They are the shadows of men and they don’t have their own identity and they are just following what men told them to do.  So, they can’t play their role to help make the world a better place. Even though women have the abilities, skills, intelligence, talent and other more it is useless because women are not recognized just like men. Other being thinks women can’t do anything without men helping them for they are weak. Or even if they are recognized, they are like accessories that are attached to description of men. As years come, women continues to prove every being that they are not just an adult female who follow men, that they can match or surpass what men can do, that they should also be recognized. Little by little, by their braveness and hard work organizations that empower women are increasing. Women are succeeding to make everyone believe that they can also do what men can do for they also have the abilities, talents and skill. They are starting to go out on the shadows of men and create their own identities. Nowadays, women can’t be seen only inside a house but also outside because they are now leading, working for family, and everything that men originally does before. Women are now originally recognized for its own abilities, skills talents and intelligence. They do have a title now in the society. So, the role of men and women in the community should be treated equally and no one should be more favored.

My mother and our latest Barangay Captain are examples of women who work for family and lead a community.  They raise the pride of women and don’t let their selves controlled by men. My mother take good care of us, she cooks, clean the house, washed clothes and other more household chores. Even though my father has a work, my mother doesn’t want to let only my father to carry the bill in our house so she have a sari-sari store and piggery business to have at least an additional income. My mother is a wise and hardworking mother, one of the reasons why I look up to her. My family won’t be an amazing family without her. Another example is our Barangay Captain, for how many years now of being barangay captain men always won the title. Until a woman tries to run as our Barangay captain and she’s was voted and won the title so she is now our Captain in our community. Even though she will compete with a man, she is not afraid to lose but brave to raise the women flag that women also know how to lead and make its barangay better than before. As shown in my example, these are some reason why women should be proud of and recognized.

Women have very significant role in the society. Women means life because she gives birth to a new being and other being cannot live or will never have the same life of having women in the family. Women can make a progress in society especially if they are educated so that they can teach other individual to be good or responsible enough. So women should not be discriminated in the society instead they should be empower because they can contribute more than we know. They should also have the care and love they give to others. In the years that have past, we saw the braveness of every woman in the society to fight their rights and roles and to prove that they deserve the spotlight. They suffered very difficult challenges to attain what they actually reach now.

Before the modern conception of private property, in hunter-gatherer societies, women had a more equal place. Of course, roles were somewhat split along gendered lines, with women generally making up the "gatherer" part, but all work which brought needed food was valued and respected.

Not everyone could be successful every day. The gatherers might find many berries or vegetables while hunters can't catch anything. One day, a successful raid on a herd of bison could feed the tribe. When you brought food home, you shared it, because the next day, you might come up empty.

Women were held in reverence as the source of human life, and our cultures still hold some similar sentiments, but they are expressed differently. The role of men evolved from going out hunting to going out and earning money working for someone, while women naturally transitioned to home-maker.

Economic and political power in our market economies depends on connections and capital. Women, being at home all day and busy taking care of children, were already at a disadvantage, but they still tried to gain some freedom in society. Interestingly, the "witch hunts" of history have often been fueled by the insecurity of empowered men as their wives or daughters sought a level of independence in society.

Religion is another point of tension for gender roles. The spiritual side is more likely to treat women with reverence, but often it's expressed as forcing women to stay inside, "protecting them from the world". It's an extension of the economic and political forces, which always have complex interplay with religion.
