What is a node?
By buying a node, you are contributing to a decentralized gaming network. You also get to vote on the best games that will be on GalaGames, and in return, you get rewarded in GalaCoins, NFTs, transaction fees, referrals, coins from other games (15+ more expected this year), and reselling the node at later date. Node prices are going up ~$500 every day, and so the earlier you get it, the better it is.
The last node is expected to go for $100,000 -> after which, you will be able to resell your own node as an NFT.

Move GALA, ETH, or BAT to your account wallet.

What are the rewards for running a Gala Node?
Gala Coins
Right now the pool of Gala pays out 8.5M Gala per day.
Node owners are paid a percentage of the daily distribution of Gala based on how many points they have.
1 Node = 1 Point per day
The equation is basically: Gala Payout divided by Total Points
For example, if 20,000 points were earned by all node owners today and you ran your node for your 1 point then your share of the pool is 1/20,000. So that day’s payout would be 8.5M divided by 20,000 = 450 Gala per point. Recently the daily payout of Gala per point is ~450 Gala depending on the number of nodes ran that day.
Game coins
Starting on October 5th, node owners will get daily distributions of Town Coin too! Those rewards are based on the amount of Town Coin earned by all the players of Town Star that day. Node owners will then receive 2-8% of that Town Coin earned. The percentage increases the more nodes that are running. This system means that nodes will get more Town Coin paid to them when there are more players earning in Town Star and more people running nodes! So this amount should increase over time! Spider Tanks is also coming in late October with the same reward distribution as TANK coin.
Every single game that is added to the Gala ecosystem will have a token and there will be daily distributions of that token to all node owners! Gala is expected to announce 15 games by the end of this year. So just imagine how many tokens node owners will be paid a year from now!!
NFT Drops
In addition, node owners also get non-fungible token drops whenever there are new NFTs added to Gala’s store. These drops are sent to random node owners who get lucky! Sometimes they drop a few hundred NFTs and other times it's a few thousand! As more games come to the network, there will be more and more NFTs randomly dropped to the node owners. You can see the NFTs that have been dropped and which nodes got them here: https://galabase.io/distro/report/. These NFTs usually range in value from $100 to 5k+.
What are the minimum requirements currently for running a node?
50 GB Disk Space
4 GB Ram
2 CPU Cores
6 hours of running the server
The vast majority of computers these days can easily do this. It takes ~1minute to set it up. If you rather not do it, you also have the option of running it on a virtual machine.
What is Gala Gold?
Gala Gold is a one-time purchase of $50 that gives you access to the gold member benefits for life.
You get access to the gold channel in discord that the founders talk in a lot so we can pick their brains. As well as access to a leaks channel where they post photos and videos for the upcoming games for us to see early! This can be super useful when a change is coming that may make prices rise and gives gold members some time get in first! Being a Gold member also rewards you with one NFT per game that is added to the network.
Just for joining Gold you get a TownStar depot NFT. Gold members were given early access to the sale to buy them. In my opinion it’s a no-brainer to get Gold because it pays itself off pretty quick. The price may also rise in the future or become a subscription.
What is Gala Power Level?
Gala Power does not effect the distribution of rewards for your node. It only effects in-game rewards.
Your Gala Power Level increases as you hold more Gala and other Gala games tokens like Town Coin in your account. Each level in Gala Power allows you to use 1 NFT in game to earn that game's token! So in TownStar if you are Gala Power level 3 then you can earn Town Coin from 3 NFTs that you place down. You can use more NFTs if you have them, but you can only earn using the amount equal to your Gala Power level. This system gives demand to hold Gala and other game tokens, while also limiting the earning potential in game so that the economy does not become inflated or overrun with bots!
