Used to have movie nights with my husband. Ever since we became a couple, it's always our favorite bonding moment.

My husband would always collect or download movies for us to watch at night before bed time. Couldn't remember how it stopped but didn't really notice that we haven't been watching together.

He would always ask me to watch movie with him and most of the time, due to exhaustion from work, I spend the rest of the night laying down in my bed. And leaving him watching the movie alone. Quite sad that upon writing this article, I'm starting to realize my shortcomings as a wife 🙈.

Sometimes he'd call the children and watch with him. And he would just allow me to take a rest for the rest of the night.

As I scroll down my phone to watch Tiktok videos, I stumbled upon a clip. It was a Filipino movie trailer with Michael V. as the lead actor. This caught my attention since I've never seen him in drama movies. He's a comedian, and I thought "I should watch this" . I was really curious of how the famous comedian Michael V. would do in drama. 😁

Immediately called my hubby for this. In the middle of a busy working hour, I called my husband to check if the movie is in netflix. Lol! 😂

Lucky me! He's got it ready as soon as I got home. He seemed excited, too. Finally, for the first time since.. we're gonna have an "us" time again. ❤️

So we watched the movie after dinner, while the kids were having a bedtime playtime.

Well I expected the movie to be funny, I was never wrong. We both had a really good laugh. And he had fun teasing me from crying so hard over a comedian acting in a drama scene.

The story is all about love, family and marriage.

Alex (Michael V.) is a cheerful, funny dad and husband. His wife May (Dawn Zulueta) is a fine, smart and beautiful lady. They had a son named after them Malix (Miguel Tanfelix).

The movie started with a simple family dinner in Alex's house. His wife and son was there and his son's girlfriend Jenna. It was a cheerful dinner because the dad always had funny jokes to share to his family.

Alex works as an old fashioned animator. He manually draws great cartoon characters and he's got an art studio in his house.

In Alex's workplace, they started to adapt to the digital world, but he seemed used to still doing things manually. But on that dinner night, he really needed the help of his son on the new character assigned to him. That's why he asked him to go to his studio along with Jenna.

Jenna was so impressed and so amazed by the studio. She felt quite sad, though, as she had seen how Alex could have been struggling with his work without proper equipment.

Alex is indeed used to the old ways. He didn't even change his analogue type phone. This is just like a typical father in real life. Most of them really had to adjust to the modern technology.

May works in a car company. She's a soft spoken woman but gives most attention to her phone. Even when they're having dinner. Most of the time, she's quiet.

One day, May was worried about her health condition. She confessed to Alex that she's been seeing a doctor for her frequent back pain. Alex didn't hesitate to offer his time to accompany her to the doctor for the results of the lab tests.

Lab tests came out really bad and they found out she had tumors in her kidney and it metastasized to the other organs including the lungs.

May then had to be confined for therapy. She knew she'll be counting days for her condition. And so, she confessed to her husband that she had an affair. She wouldn't elaborate the details but her husband kept on asking her to the point that she could spoil the whole details to him.

Alex found out that his wife would invite her lover in her house while he's away. Next thing he knew, was her making love with the unknown lover in his work station - his art studio. He went home immediately and destroyed his studio. He could imagine them doing it inside his favorite spot in the house. Malix who was supposed to approach his dad for his song composition was just watching him from the entrance.

That was the part where I cried so hard. My husband has to run to the kitchen to get me some water because I couldn't breathe. It affected my emotions too much. So, we continued watching even while I was still sobbing. My husband was just laughing at me.

Meanwhile, Jenna had invited him and Malix to a birthday dinner at her house. Alex met Anna. She is Jenna's mother. She was so fascinated with his jokes that they became comfortable with each other. Just like how Jenna gets easily sold out with his jokes. Alex is truly a funny person.

After that simple dinner, Alex received a gift. He got an Ipad from Anna. He was so flattered and overwhelmed to receive such an expensive gift. Jenna was the one who actually handed it to him and she told him it was her mom's. She gave it to Alex so that he could use it for his animations. The teens taught him how to use it.

As he was at home, he received a text message from an unknown number. He was asked if he liked the Ipad. That moment he took out a sweet smile. Realizing he would get some special treatment after all his heartbreak. He thought it was Anna who texted him. They became textmates and it makes him kilig everytime he gets simple greetings from her, almost everyday.

Alex tried to go on with his life after all the revelations of his wife. He tried to still be cheerful even though he couldn't focus at work. The cheerful Alex that his co-workers knew looked like a Halloween character now. He's imagining things from the devastating details of his wife's love affair that sometimes lead him to trouble. His best friend and his boss advised him to take a rest or file a leave because his emotions and life situation had pulled him down that it's almost going to ruin his mental state.

He was forced to leave work temporarily even if he didn't like to. His boss cares for him as his employee so he decided to give him a break. Alex didn't like the idea but he has to because his boss has already made up his mind.

As he left the place, the old memories of him and his wife all came together. He realized how good his wife was and that he also had shortcomings that made her do those unbelievable things. He was too focused with work and forgot about her. He didn't notice that he was unknowingly making distance while he gets busy working to provide for his family. At this moment, he's starting to accept everything.

I couldn't remember what actually lead Alex to Jenna's house. But one night, he went there and found out that Jenna's dad was his wife's lover. Because of too much sneaking and investigating, he accidentally damaged Jay's computer and other personal things. Things went complicated and they came into the point that they finally confronted each other. There he also knew that it's not Anna who was texting her. It was Jenna, who was just concerned and wanted him to learn the modern way of animation. She just wanted to help him.

So, after all the things that happened, Alex went back to May whom he left in the care of her best friend Esmeralda (Cacai Bautista). All of his realizations put him back to the old Alex that he was. The loving, caring and funny husband and father.
