The "Pepsi Mic Drop Genesis NFT" pickup will be available for free in the USA. PepsiCo details that "features" of the design were randomly caused by an algorithm, which makes them "unique pieces."
PepsiCo announced the launch of its first collection of 1,893 non-fungible tokens (NFTs), based on the brand's pop culture, and the digital parts will be accessible to its US customers and will be based on Ethereum (ETH) blockchain technology.
This is how the company described it, through its Twitter account:
The "Pepsi Mic Drop Genesis NFT" pickup will be available for free in the USA. PepsiCo details that "the features" of the design were randomly caused by an algorithm, which makes them "unique pieces" and different, in a way that pays tribute to the chronicle of the brand.
Pepsi will also open a waiting list from December 10 and the compilation is expected to be available on December 14 for the winners, who must be "enthusiasts" of the brand. The collection has been designed by VaynerNFT, who claims to be a "fan" of PepsiCo.
Pepsi seeks that the parts of its collection are valued with the era
PepsiCo's collection comes after other beverage brands launched their own NFTs, from Coca Cola, Anheuser-Busch InBev, to fast food organization McDonald's Corp. Pepsi says it will keep 50 more shares for future marketing campaigns .
Pepsi VP Marketing Todd Kaplan says the following:
At the end of July, Coca-Cola auctioned its first compilation of designs featuring digital designer Tafi. To celebrate World Friendship Day on July 30, Coca-Cola sold an NFT loot box on OpenSea, which contained digital garments designed by Tafí, with the alternative of being worn in Decentraland's virtual metaverse.
This is how the company reported it at the time:
