Instagram está considerando la integración de NFT
Instagram may be the latest company to adopt NFTs as the buzz grows louder. If implemented, NFTs could be available to well over 1 billion individuals.
Instagram will incorporate NFT
The cryptocurrency society has been full of excitement as Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri hinted that the company might adopt NFT in the future. Mosseri made it known in a question and answer session with users on the platform where he indicated that Instagram was "actively exploring."
"There is nothing to announce yet, but we are definitely actively exploring NFTs and how we have the potential to make them more available to a wider audience." Mosseri manifested through his IG story. "I think it is an interesting space where we have the possibility to play, and also a way to contribute to creators."
This is not the first time that the great of the social networks was linked to the NFTs, because in June, Allessandro Paluzzi, an Italian inventor, revealed a story through his Twitter that Instagram was doing work on "collectibles ". He went on to share screenshots of what the functionality would look like and hinted that it will have the function of connecting with a digital wallet like MetaMask.
The details of Paluzzi's disclosures lead several to believe that Instagram is ready to fully embrace NFT as part of its offerings to users. Sean Williams, an artist, said in May that Instagram was already in contact with art creators within the NFT ecosystem to help him build his NFT platform.
The furious NFT
NFTs could easily pass as the buzzword for 2021, eventually becoming the Collins Dictionary term of the year. The NFT market has exploded to surpass $ 2.5 billion in the first half of 2021 and shows no signs of slowing down. The jump is more evident once you take note of the fact that throughout 2018, only NFTs were traded for a cost of $ 41 million.
Recently a successful hardware store, Radioshack made its entry into the NFT and DeFi space known. CNN, Times, Adidas and McDonald's are among monumental brands that made a foray into the lively NFT space.
Instagram's parent organization Meta has signaled its intention to delve deeper into the metaverse with a groundbreaking announcement in October. NFTs are touted to play a leading role in the metaverse, and perhaps Instagram is trying not to lag behind the rest of the pack.
I think this was something social networks had to adopt in any moment, otherwise sooner or later content creators would migrate to other platforms where their content and effort could be rewarded at the same time they give quality content
