A current Ethereum Optimization Initiative (EIP) introduced by the network's co-founder, Vitalik Buterin, aims to address transaction pricing, one of the network's biggest problems.
Last month, Buterin filed EIP-4488, which aims to minimize the “calldata” of the transaction.
The primary objective of the initiative is to minimize gas rates in the ecosystem by extending Ethereum's Layer 2 scalability resolutions.
Ethereum developers have reacted positively to EIP-4488 via Twitter to describe what is behind the initiative.

The researcher described that the functionality of Layer 1 data is not directly increased, "but it balances the price of execution with the price of the data in favor of rollups, while maintaining a similar maximum capacity", and added:
He described that the price of a rollup transaction is a function of the data they publish on the Ethereum mainnet."If we lower the price of calldata, we lower the price of rollup transactions ”.
