ELF Token seeks to spread the holiday cheer by helping Toys for Tots bring hope to many underprivileged children who have lost so much during the pandemic.
ABC 6 / FOX, FOX 28 and CW Columbus have partnered with Rock City Church to collect 50,000 toys to help Central Ohio families through the Toys for Tots Foundation. This will be the physical aspect of the initiative.
Toys for Tots began in 1947 as an initiative of the United States Marine Corps. The Toys for Tots program distributes 18 million toys to 7 million disadvantaged children each year.
There is also a virtual component in this year's toy drive. The $ ELF token, a new token recently launched on Binance Smart Chain, will donate money to the charity.
The $ ELF token is not a reward coin, nor is it a charity coin, but rather combines the two concepts to create a community coin. 2% of each transaction goes to your charity wallet and is rewarded in BUSD, due to its stability. This year, the goal of $ ELF is to donate $ 100,000 to Toys for Tots.
According to a recent interview with one of the owners of the $ ELF Token, Miles Harris, the token was designed with the purpose of benefiting society. Any changes to the reward structure will be made based on a vote from the team and the community.
The 15-person team behind the $ ELF Token wants to spread Christmas cheer all year long. The team also has plans to launch an NFT creation and games roadmap to achieve this, and is looking to support other charities.
