do you know people can survive headshot . 99% people die due to lack of timing but a healthy person can live about one hour

I think I’ve related the story somewhere else here on Quora, but I watched a guy get shot square in the back of the head late one night. He was standing at the counter of a Sambo’s restaurant paying his bill when a guy walked in behind him, raised a snub-nosed revolver, and let fly. Pink mist all over the face of the girl at the register. Guy slams face-first into the counter like he was hit with a sledge hammer. The 12 cops sitting around drinking coffee, as this was the only place open at 2 in the morning, all just sat there staring for a moment, but the two cops walking in the door behind the shooter, grabbed him, took the gun away, and threw him up against the cigarette machine by the door, to frisk him, then cuffed him and held him there while all the cops told each other what happened from their perspective and started taking statements.
Meanwhile, the dead guy is still lying across the counter making a puddle on the floor,.
Then the dead guy stands up and looks around, half his scalp turned inside-out, looking like a bloody toupe’. The waitress starts screaming again. The cops all go slack-jawed, staring again. And the guy leaps past the cops and starts pounding on the handcuffed guy who had shot him.
Took the cops a moment to react, but several of them finally pulled him off the guy and got him cuffed up too.
Then while they’re getting the dead guy under control, the guy who shot him almost slipped out the door in the confusion. Unfortunately for him, one of the cops had stepped out into the parking lot to get my name and number and tell me that they probably wouldn’t even call me, since a dozen cops and State Troopers had seen the whole thing. He was rushing back in the door as the shooter tried to bolt out.
It was quite a show.
So the answer to your question is, I don’t know if I could get shot in the head and live, but that guy certainly could.
A lot depends on the gun, where in the head the bullet hits, and whose head it is.
I think both guys ended up in jail, as the whole disagreement stemmed from a problem with a drug deal.
