The state minister was speaking as the chief guest at a function to distribute digital learning materials to ensure the participation of indigent students in online classes at the Dhaka Residential Model College auditorium in the capital on Wednesday (July 22nd).
Palak said, 'Information technology has been made compulsory at the secondary level in educational institutions to make four and a half crore students of the country suitable for technology-based employment. The government has set up 6,000 Sheikh Russell Digital Labs across the country to provide opportunities for students to acquire skills in technology and another 5,000 labs will be set up.
The state minister said that although the opportunity to take classes online has been created on the digital platform, not all educational institutions have yet taken up that opportunity. Because, they did not have the infrastructural preparation. With that in mind, there are plans to establish the School of Future Software Platform Model School in 300 parliamentary seats across the country. Through this, teachers and students across the country will be able to enjoy the benefits of Digital Bangladesh, he said.
Principal of Dhaka Residential Model College Brigadier General Kazi Shamim Farhad presided over the function while Secretary of Secondary and Higher Education Department Mahbub Hossain spoke. Representatives of Walton and Global brands were present on the occasion.
