Hustle and bustle. Pause. Silence. Deafening. Chaos. Question.

The sudden shift from the loud music of the busy world to an earsplitting quietness brought every human into a catatonic state. This abrupt pause caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has created negative repercussions that affected everyone’s life. Every part of the world was suffering from the aftermath of this deadly virus, and every human was immediately sentenced to demise. Humanity is in the verge of collapsing; the health sector was struggling in protecting and saving lives, businesses were shut down and caused a massive effect to the economy, and the education system had its unforeseen break, which shattered every student’s dream. Hence the question, when will our life continue? When will we see a silver lining amidst the life-threatening issues? And what will we see after this sudden pause?

More than a year of being enclosed in our havens brought us countless uncertainties that we try to fight and surpass every single day. The global pandemic has brought us eclectic difficulties that we have never expected to come across in our lives. It has taken many opportunities to live our lives spontaneously and happily. Many have lived in terror, skepticism, and vagueness because of the threats of this appalling virus that has dominated the world. However, as days pass by, we can already see the hope that is starting to sprout. From the seeds of defense planted by the medical sector as they create vaccines for us to be protected, our future is slowly unfolding.

When will our life continue? Now.

From the vaccine that served as our stepping-stone in our healing, it created many positive consequences for the humanity to move and go on with their lives. People were starting to help one another, government officials became more active and sympathetic, and this was a good sign of rebuilding our lives. As more people become informed and educated with what we can do to mitigate the effects of COVID-19 pandemic, it brought smiles and optimism to everyone, especially our young children.

Now, even though we are already slowly recovering from the havoc this virus has created, we still have that doubt of what is in our future. We are still waiting and wondering for what will happen in our tomorrows. So, where will we hold onto? Them. Idealistic as it may seem, but I cling and hold onto the idea that the young dreamers of today will make our future brighter. Our children are gifts for everyone as they are the new hopes that grew from the love and care that we give, hence, we should believe in their capabilities and in their dreams and aspirations for our nation.

When will we see a silver lining amidst the life-threatening issues? Now.

Cliché as it is, but the children are our future. Why? Because they will be the ones planning for the recovery, they will be the ones building our wrecked spaces, and they will be the ones mending the bleeding scars of the tragic past. Hence, as these young dreamers continue to grip in our hands and put their faith in us to safeguard them from all the devastations and pessimisms, let us not fail them. Because as we help them in establishing a sturdy foundation for them to win and overcome all the obstacles in life, we are also putting our faith into them, we are also expecting that they will paint our future brighter and more colorful.

This battle is not only for elders, but also for the children. Thus, we need to help one another, old, young, rich, and poor; this is a battle that we need to win. As the children adhere to the things that we can provide, we also need to believe in them, that they can, and they will. And if we see that they will stumble in their way, let us not pin them down with their mistakes; rather we should uplift them and redirect their missteps so that they will always believe that we trust them.

And what will we see after this sudden pause? A brighter future.

As the chaos created by the pandemic is slowly healing, and as we take our tiny leaps into the new normal, let us hold onto one another, especially we hold onto the tiny hands of our tomorrow’s builders- our children. With them, is the soaring faith of a more colorful future as they continue to thrive, learn, and take actions. With them, is the hope of a brighter tomorrow after the pandemic.

Silence. Deafening. Chaos. Question. Youth. The Answer.
