Introduction:-
In the last blog, the known life of Satoshi Nakamoto was discussed. It included from his entry to exit, and in the end some possibilities of who he might be was discussed. This article will slightly go further than that and discuss a few things about Satoshi Nakamoto. The main point of this article is to bring forward a small reference by Satoshi which has never been paid greater attention. It was a maths calculation which Satoshi did on the basis of the second-largest currency in the world. You might need to read the previous piece titled The Known Life of Satoshi Nakamoto to understand this piece.
Satoshi Nakamoto’s Non-Japanese Connection:-
Satoshi Nakamoto identifies himself as a Japanese person from the start. Which includes his name and also the country he mentioned on P2P Foundation forum. As said in last blog, it might be, he concocted the identity based on the country of the email and domain provider.
His Japanese identity is itself questionable due to a few reasons. A Japanese person interacting with others will give a slight hint about his Japan-ism. A word, a phrase, a reference, slight Japanese vernacular etc, etc. Satoshi mainly interacted with Western Cryptographers during his known journey. Interacting with them, atleast one clue or hint should have been given by him to tie him to Japan. A person however much he tries cannot hide the way he was raised (in Satoshi case his Japan-ism).
Japan is a unique country with its history, religion, culture. To give an example, when Newsweek identified Satoshi to be Dorian Prentice Satoshi Nakamoto. Dorian Nakamoto went with an AP reporter to the AP bureau in LA after his house was surrounded by reporters. Jokingly, Dorian asked for ‘free’ lunch and was brought Sushi from a restaurant. He answered questions asked by the reporter and to deny that he had nothing to with bitcoin. The story was brought forth here to suggest that Japanese-American Dorian had the still his Japanese roots.
The Japanese roots are not seen in Satoshi communications with others. His various emails both public and private and various forum posts are available to be viewed. Not once a hint was given of his Japan-ism or Japanese ancestry.
British Connection:-
Satoshi’s Britishness was discussed in the previous blog, with the usage of British English and British phrases. But, Satoshi’s language was not only the British thing found. He etched a headline of British Paper ‘Sunday Times’ on the genesis block with its date. Many analysis and conclusions were done by many people about how he may have gotten the paper and the article.
European Connection:-
As stated above, the main point of this blog was to highlight a minor thing which was not discussed before. It is Satoshi’s mention of a major currency in the world, the Euro. In this private emails released by Mike Hearn through CipehrionX we get some insights into Satoshi. Satoshi mentioned the Euro to Mike while explaining whether bitcoins will be denominated by a whole integer or whether there will be fractions of bitcoins.
What denominations are these coins? You mention a way to combine and split value but I’m not clear on how this works. For instance are bitcoins always denominated by an integer or can you have fractional bitcoins.”
Values are 64-bit integers with 8 decimal places, so 1 coin is represented internally as 100000000. There’s plenty of granularity if typical prices become small. For example, if 0.001 is worth 1 Euro, then it might be easier to change where the decimal point is displayed, so if you had 1 Bitcoin it’s now displayed as 1000, and 0.001 is displayed as 1.”
It is not uncommon if a German citizen is explaining something to a French citizen in terms of Euro, as both of these countries use Euro. Also, if an Italian citizen references it with a Hungarian person (Italy uses Euro while Hungary uses Foronit). Euro is the second-biggest traded currency after United States Dollar. So, citizens of different countries within Europe/EU must be using Euro as a reference for monetary communication with each other.
Now, if a person quotes US Dollar it isn’t that weird or uncommon as it is world’s biggest currency and every commodity or other currencies are usually pegged to US Dollar. Mike Hearn whom which Satoshi was communicating is US citizen from birth. If we consider that many leading cryptographers and developers at that time were North American citizens, mainly US citizens, and as such Dollar would have been used by them. Referencing dollar would be seen good courtesy as Satoshi was explaining it to a stranger, and it would have easy for Mike to get the answer.
Satoshi Nakamoto’s Irish Connection:-

So did Satoshi consciously or subconsciously used Euro. Meaning, if consciously, he used it to cloak his identity by not referencing his country currency. If used subconsciously, we can assume that his residing place uses Euro as national currency, and he unknowingly used Euro by habit. In the last blog, we opinionatedly concluded that Satoshi resides either in UK or a British Commonwealth country. We are going slightly forward with our opinionated conclusions, which is as follows:-
That combining his use of British English with Euro as currency there is only one country on this planet which fits the criteria, Republic of Ireland. Ireland uses Euro as currency and a form of British English, known as Irish English or Hiberno-English.

To do what Satoshi did anonymously, you can get yourself a domain from Epik by avoiding WHOIS search. You can use Tor Browser from Tor org or Brave Browser which will help to hide your IP and cloak your fingerprint.
