We Are Still So Early In Bitcoin
One of most common things that people heavily into the cryptocurrency do, is that we often go so deep down the crypto rabbit-hole and then assume that most people are just like us. Seeing the world exactly how we see it. How could they not be? They should clearly be able to see the unprecedented amount of inflation that is happening around the world, which will cause their life saving's purchasing power to drastically decrease. They should should easily be able to see that governments controlling the money and its creation often only leads to bad things. That bitcoin is obviously the answer to those problems, and the hardest money we have seen to date. As the famous phrase goes, "fix the money, fix the world." Not only that, but also that ethereum would allow us to own portions of the internet and services we use, own our identities in the metaverse and allowing us to become bankless. For those of us that took the crypto red-pill, our world view has been completely changed and their is no going back.
But, it is so easy to get caught up in our own eco chamber and forget how the average person thinks. The Super Bowl took place in America today and there is nothing more mainstream than this. Which means that it is a great opportunity to get a glimpse of how the regular person is thinking. While the Super Bowl is of course famous for being the championship football game for the NFL, it is just as famous for the festivities around it. Most notably the TV commercials and half-time music performance. This is the most watched television event each year in the USA and it isn't even close. Which means that it is the golden opportunities for companies to use high marketing budgets for TV commercials, and it is also the even that everyone in the nation is talking about.
As it happens, this year there were quite a few crypto company commercials during the game and they were heavily talked about. Sometimes people being in their own crypto eco chamber can be a negative thing, but also sometimes it can be a positive. For those who are investing today in bitcoin, ethereum and the list goes on, perhaps many of us feel that prices are already too expensive. That we were too late, and we won't be able to get rich by investing into crypto.
During the game I was also tracking conversations that were happening on Twitter, Facebook, and it made me come to the conclusion that we are still so incredibly early.
This is just one of the tweets that I saw that was popular. As you can see, the person doesn't even understand the difference between a cryptocurrency exchange, and the actual crypto itself. It would be similar to comparing the app Robinhood, to US dollars. No one would do it. The interesting thing isn't the tweet itself, but actually the comments and replies to the tweet. There are so many people that agree whole-heartedly with this tweet, and also believe that bitcoin or crypto is scam. They often claimed that bitcoin wasn't backed by anything, unlike the US dollar. Many actually still thought the US dollar was backed by gold, which is hasn't been for more than 50 years now. Also many people brought up hacks were people have lost their money and their is no guarantee you will get reimbursed.
What is all boils down to are two different things. People are afraid of anything that is new and unknown to them. They haven't put in the time or research to even begin to learn about bitcoin and crypto. Or they stubborn, stuck in their ways, and have little to no knowledge of what "money" actually is, and how it works.
I could write dozens of articles about the thoughts in the paragraph above, but today I'm only focusing how we are still incredibly early. We often overestimate how many people are actually into cryptocurrency and investing on a regular basis. In truth, we are probably still no where near reaching 10% of the world population being knowledgable about crypto and also investing in it. There are YouTubers out there that claim that hidden gem altcoins, or small market cap coins are the only ways to make money in the future. That bitcoin, Ethereum and even the likes of Solana have all reached near their top potential. Why invest in bitcoin when it could only do 5-10x, when you can invest in the new gem that does a 100x.
The reason why you would still invest is not only the principals that come along with bitcoin and ethereum, but when you truly understand the crypto and macro market, and where the world is heading. That is when you understand that it is likely that bitcoin and ethereum will greatly outperform peoples expectations. When I say greatly, I actually mean parabolically outperform peoples expectations.
Remember, just last year, while bitcoin was still dipping during the summer of 2021, Fidelity, one of the largest investing firms in the world predicted a $100 million price of bitcoin per coin by 2035. I'm as bullish as a person can be, but even for me that is a large prediction. But then you also need to take into consideration of what the purchasing power of $100 million by 2035 actually would be in today's dollars, due to inflation of the US dollar.
All I can say is this. For those of you reading this article now, you are still early. Avoid all of the outside FUD. Just last week, BlackRock, the largest asset holder in the world announced they would get into crypt trading. The world is heading in a certain direction and it is imperative that you prepare yourself for the storm that is coming. IF bitcoin and crypto does take over like a lot of us believe it will. Then think about the person above who made that tweet, and the thousands of people who replied in complete agreement. In the not so far future, they will be hit with an incredibly harsh reality, and regret for not being open-minded or preparing for the "just-in case" future.
Continue stacking your SATS, continue dollar-cost averaging and taking advantage of price dips, and continue building your crypto passive-income streams. It might not feel like it right now, but you are building your own life-changing wealth.
How about you? What do you think when you see regular people so out of touch with crypto?
As always, thank you for reading!
