Knowledge is power so they say. But how do we acquire knowledge if there is no one to teach and guide us especially during these times where face to face learnings and school operations have been put to a halt because of the pandemic we are facing right now. While distance learning, online and modular classes are being implemented to make the students get the necessary and unparalleled education, there still a void in learning which can only be filled with reading and self help.
Reading books and other forms of publications is really important. It helps us relax and keeps everything out of our troubled minds thereby relieving us from stress, it keeps us well informed and increases our vocabulary and knowledge. When you read, try your best to understand and then you learn. The more you read, the more you learn. But where do we get the things we read? We have libraries!
The use of libraries even before the pandemic is truly one of the best sources of information. For the longest time, we had access to physical libraries and later on, with the advancement of technology, online libraries became available offering us a wider access to information. And with the dilemma we are facing right now, where going to a physical library is impossible due to imposed community restrictions, online libraries are only a click away to provide us the learnings that we crave for right at the comfort of our homes. All we have to do is use it.
The pandemic hit us hard, really hard, in terms of health, life economy, finance and education. It led everyone to a new normal environment, changes, reforms and transformations, which forced us to have limited movements in almost all aspects of our daily lives, but not when it comes to knowledge and information. Libraries, whether physical or online serve as our catalysts of knowledge, even before and especially now in this so-called new normal environment.
We really should appreciate and make use of the existence of books and libraries, for the world will never be this intelligent without it. So keep reading a habit!
