According to the latest reports, on September 28, the hacker(s) who stole $150 million Singaporean exchange KuCoin started selling his tokens through decentralised exchanges.
The criminals behind the hacking of KuCoin transfer funds through decentralised exchanges such as Uniswap
Chainlink (LINK) and Synthetix Network Token (SNX) were transferred to Uniswap for at least $5 million, and Uniswap and Kyber Network Token (SNX) were converted to Ether for $4.2 million.
Larry Cermak, The Block 's Research Officer, claims that the real amount is more likely to be $280 million, with $147 million in ERC-20 tokens being stolen alone.
The hacker's wallet is blacklisted by Binance, Huobi and OKEx, but the funds are funnelled through DEXss
On September 26, the KuCoin team noted massive withdrawals; the attacker targeted hot wallets containing many distinct cryptocurrencies, including BTC , ETH and XRP.
Dovey Wan, founding partner of Rudimentary Crypto, claims that the attackers were DeFi amateurs, as they should have used some of the protocols to cover their tracks better.
