There was a small primary school in a slum in Delhi. There were 80 children studying in it and an Astani was assigned to teach them. Meanwhile, a professor from the Department of Sociology of Delhi University gave the MA students a research project that included a social and educational visit to this primary school in the slum. The students of the Department of Sociology made a deep study of 80 students of the said school and then prepared a comprehensive report and submitted it to the professor. During the discussion on the report, the professor asked his students, "What is the future of these 80 children?" The students agreed, "These children have no future." They will grow up in a dirty environment and then die a miserable life like their parents”.

"I Loved Those Kids" "I Can't"

Stories of best practices from teachers that light up lives

A hard copy of the report was placed in the library of the department. Twenty years after this incident, a professor got a chance to see the said report. He thought why not follow up on the results of this report. They wanted to find out how the 80 children of the primary school in Kachiabadi are now. So the professor gave this research project to the students of his MA class to see where and in what condition the 80 children are now.
When the students of the university reached the said slum, they started searching for these 80 children. They were already young. The students were pleasantly surprised that all the 76 youths are living a successful and prosperous life. Some of them were doctors, some engineers and some accountants, while the rest were associated with higher professions. When the freshest of the visit arrived at the university and compared it with the results of the report twenty years ago, it was obvious that the most unbelievable situation was revealed. Now the professor of Sociology Department had a doubt that maybe a teacher is behind the success of these children. He ordered his students to find the location of this primary school.
The students finally reached the province which twenty years ago was teaching the poor children of the slums and the successful youth of today. The head of the Department of Sociology then went to meet the governor in a sophisticated manner. The professor asked this old woman how she succeeded in bringing revolution in the lives of the poor children of the slum. Twenty years ago, it was not in anyone's imagination that they would reach high positions.
This elderly Astani, who lived a retired life, only said in response:
"I loved these children."
This is the true story of how a teacher's love for students can revolutionize their lives. There is irrefutable evidence.
See another similar incident.
Begum Vidya Sinha was a Sinhala (language) teacher in a government high school in Sri Lanka. Whenever new children joined her class every year, she would make the first children do a "job". Today was also his first day in the new party. When the introduction phase to the children was over, Begum Vidya gave them the first order: "Tear a sheet from your own copies and write on it from the first line to the last sentence: "I can't do it".

When all the students had written this sentence, Astani asked them to fold their paper twice and put it in the cardboard box in the corner. All the children obeyed the order. Finally, Begum Vidya herself also put her folded paper in the box. Now they glued the white paper around the box with glue and closed it. Then he asked a student to go and fetch a spade and hoe from Mali.
When the hoe arrived, Astani picked up the box containing the "I can't" sheets and asked all the children to follow her in a procession. Astani led her students into the courtyard. There he selected a corner and asked three healthy and strong children to dig a hole according to the size of the box. When the hole was ready, Astani asked the four children to dig the cardboard box with great care and respect. put in The rest of the children were asked to put a handful of mud into the pit. Finally, the rest of the soil was also put into the pit using a hoe and the box was buried. A grave was made on top of it with loose soil.
Now Begum Vidya put a plaque on the grave on which it was written: "The name of the thing to which this grave belongs was 'I can't'." Date of death: April 10, 2000. Later, standing on the same grave, Astani gave a lecture to his students, the gist of which was, "Today, we have buried "I can't" in this grave. . From now on, none of us will say I can't do anything.
After the preparation of `I can't'', it became normal that whenever a student said that he couldn't do his homework or he didn't understand a certain question or he couldn't do all these things, Begum Vidya reminds him. Hey bhai, we have buried `I can't'', so don't blame him now.'' Soon the acquisition knowledge of the children became better than before. You have seen how the innovative thinking of a native has created a revolutionary change in the behavior and thinking of the students through a practical activity. Our teachers are also inspired by these bright examples. Can learn a lot.
