This is one of the most controversial issues in our society. People around the world, regardless of who they love, how they look, or who they are, face abuse and injustice and sometimes torture, even execution. Sexual orientation and gender identity are an important part of our lives and should never lead to violence.

Gender is a biological and physical attribute possessed by a person and the binary definition of gender is adopted by many cultures throughout the world. It is commonly divided today into only two categories of sex: female and male.

Some persons are considered intersex in certain situations. Some persons are difficult to categorize or are unable to categorize their sex at birth because of any anatomical anomalies in their genitals, such as being a hermaphrodite or possessing both female and male genitals. Often, due to mutations in their genes or to unbalanced hormones, they become intersex.

What is LGBTQ?

Some individuals agree that there are multiple gender styles and want to add to what most LGBTQ people already know. Only this LGBTQ continuum will be introduced in this article to clarify the debate on the subject of gender.

  1. Lesbian - women who feel their fellow woman's physical or sexual attraction.

  2. Gay - This is a term that refers to the same sex's physical or romantic appeal. This term is mainly used by men, but it can also be used to describe a woman that both women are drawn to. The closest counterpart in the Philippines to a person who encounters homosexuality is the so-called 'gay'.

  3. Bisexual - Bisexuals are persons that have same-sex appeal. Bisexuals can experience varying degrees of attraction. For a bisexual to call himself bisexual or larger, he does not need to have sexual contact.

  4. Transgender - This concept is used by all persons who display a gender identity or expression of gender that is typically found in the opposite sex. To alter their body and conform it to their gender identity, they can take hormones prescribed by the doctor. There are occasions that transgender individuals undergo surgery to alter their gender, but not all transgender individuals want surgery.

  5. Queer - This is a term that certain individuals use to identify their gender. Not just heterosexual, they are. To explain their gender, they also use the word queer because they feel they should not categorize themselves as lesbian, gay, or bisexual.

  6. Questioning - Some individuals are also unaware of their sexual orientation or gender identity at the moment.

    What are Sexual Orientations?

    1. Homosexuality - It's a same-sex attraction.

    2. Heterosexuality- The visibility of attraction to the opposite sex.

    3. Bisexuality -Appealing to both sexes.

    4. Asexuality - An person has no attraction to either gender.

    5. Heterosexuality and Homosexuality - In today's culture, sexuality is the biggest issue. In cultures, heterosexuality is dominant, it is the romantic or sexual relationship between the "straight" man and the "straight" woman. On the other hand, homosexuality is a romantic or sexual relationship between the same sex (sex). Bisexuality is another sexual identity today.

Some individuals consider themselves to be asexual, someone who does not experience any gender attraction physically, romantically, or sexually.

But individuals of both sexes do not fail to honor one another. Avoid prejudice because it does not please them. It is not an infection that needs to be stopped and banished. They are also individuals with hearts and emotions like us, they hurt every time they hear and received bad criticisms.
