A woman's menstruation usually occurs during their adolescence. At this stage, there are many changes in their physical and other aspects. Menarche is the first menstrual cycle in girls. Girls experience menarche at different ages and this is where the changes begin.

During the first menstruation of young women, others are disturbed by fear and lack of information about it. I was one of them when I was young, I felt a mixture of fear and apprehension because I was not ready and I did not know what to do. In one study, when describing their first menstrual period, women used the words “embarrassed,” and “scared,” when they remembered their experience. This is especially true for women who are not prepared for menstruation. During the first month of the visit I did not know what to do, I was ashamed to tell my housemates. So we parents should help them not to throw away and keep in the first month of their visit.

It is best to start talking to your daughter about this before her first menstrual period arrives. So talking to your child about body changes and menstruation should begin at an early age, perhaps at the age of about eight years. You may think this is too early, but if your child is between the ages of eight and ten, there is likely to be a change in his body due to the increase in hormones.

How do they feel during their period?

During this time, headaches, back pain, irritability or sadness or emotional, swelling, and abdominal pain. This is based solely on my experience. Menstruation or menstruation is normal vaginal bleeding that occurs as part of a woman's menstrual cycle. Menstrual blood is partial blood and partial tissue from within the uterus. Every month, the blood thickens in the "lining" of the uterus due to hormones. After menstruation, it is thin again. It occurs repeatedly in women with normal menstruation until menopausal age. According to OB Gynecologist, "The regular cycle is every 28 days. There is a short cycle, 21 days. There is also a long cycle, 45 days. All of these are considered regular. In the 2-7 day menstrual cycle, you can use 3 up to 4 pads per day.

How to know if menstruation is abnormal and what causes it?

We have different types of abnormal menstruation, they are as follows:

  1. Oligomenorrhea - infrequent menstruation. Women only have 6 to 8 periods a year.

  2. Metrorrhagia - menstruation between monthly visits.

  3. Menometrorrhagia - prolonged, strong, irregular, and frequent.

  4. Amenorrhea - no menstruation for 3 to 6 months or longer.

We are having abnormal menstruation due to the following:

  • Changes in hormone levels

  • Intrauterine Device (IUD)

  • Replacing birth control pills

  • Medicine for other diseases

  • Excessive exercise

  • Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS)

  • Pregnancy

  • Breastfeeding

  • Excessive adhesion of uterine lining (Asherman Syndrome)

  • Stress \ Polyps in the lining of the uterus

  • Myoma or uterine fibroids

How to cure abnormal menstruation?

According to a specialist, there is no cure for abnormal menstruation (puberty) and menopause unless it is excessive or disruptive. Some say taking supplements that can help make menstruation normal.

Anyway, having menarche at an early age, I did not experience any abnormality during my period because the visit was normal. But I always felt abdominal pain, headaches, laziness, irritability, and swelling on the first or second day of bleeding. Sometimes I take a pain reliever or painkiller to get rid of the pain easily. But what I always do is, I drink a lot of water and I use a warm bag or gel bag to reduce the pain.
