Embutido is a type of meatloaf made from ground pork prepared in Filipino style. It is a well-known dish during the holidays, fiesta, and birthdays. And since Christmas is about to come, I thought it is about time to remind you of this classic Pinoy dish.

Companies of meat processing have now produced this kind of meatloaf for their grocery store. For those who want to enjoy my homemade Embutido, this is my version of Embutido which can't taste like other commercialized Embutido. It can be steamed for an hour but some recipes are usually baked this instead, which I’ve tried but I have to say that the steamed version tastes better and has a better texture than the baked one. If you want to skip the frying part broil it a bit in the oven after steaming to give a bit After being steamed, they can be frozen so that they can last for a month. You can be served this by frying and put the catsup on the side.

I like to eat Embutido with fried rice when warm. If you want to try this, do not hesitate because I am sure you will love this on your first attempt.

If you like it, try this recipe at your home. It saves you money, time, hassle in going out especially now that we need to avoid going out regularly.

There are many reasons to eat in, rather than going out:

  1. Saves the money- When you eat in, because you’re not leaving the house without expenses like gas, wear and tear to your vehicle and tipping. You may not notice it but, over the years this could be thousands of pesos you are able to save by simply eating in.

  2.  Family Time– Eating in is a great way to bring the family together. Eating out could result in being unable to have meaningful conversations because of the noise level.

  3.  Binge Watching- spending time with kids and be able to binge watch your favorite TV show or movies while you enjoy this amazing meal.

  4. It's cheaper- when eating at a restaurant, you will paying an extra cost.

  5. More options - you'll be able to decide what taste you want. When you eat at home, you can prepare your food exactly the way you want.

  6. Intimate time with your partner- you can cook this dish for your partner. No noise or can get more comfortable setting at your home.
