From dried lizards to tuna eyes: here are 10 succulent dishes for the most daring palates.
If you've had enough of paella and fancy something more exotic, how about sinking your 
teeth into a piece of raw whale blubber? If that's not your thing either, don't worry,
you can always dip into a crunchy tarantula. If you're hungry, by the time you're done 
sneering through this article, you may already be over it. Here are 10 of the weirdest 
foods you can try on your travels.

1. Crunchy tarantula
If these eight-legged critters are your worst nightmare, it is more than questionable if
this dish will be your energy or not. But if you go to Cambodia do not miss the opportunity
to taste the neighborhood delicacy: fried tarantula. They say the taste is quite nice,
like a kind of cross between chicken and cod... only with eight hairy limbs.

2. Sheep eye juice
If you've ever needed an excuse not to drink liquor, this is it. In Mongolia, the traditional
hangover cure is a glass filled with tomato juice, vinegar, and sheep's eyes. It's full of
vitamins and very good for you, but quite possibly this "cure" will give you more nausea
than a headache. would you dare


3. Centennial Egg
You'll need a bomb-proof stomach to resist this delicacy. The "centennial eggs" are black
inside and are usually preserved for months in a mixture of clay, ashes and lime. They
give off a strong smell of ammonia and sulfur, so if you fancy a somewhat strong preserve,
this is yours.

4. Frozen whale blubber and skin
Popularly known in the districts as "muktuk", this oily and rubbery delicacy is packed
 with vitamin C and D. The skin and blubber of the bowhead whale is normally eaten raw,
 but if you fancy something different you can always opt for the fried version. 

5. Chicken feet, China
We warned you, this is a little gross. Feed a saying that the Chinese eat anything with
legs except plateaus. Very crunchy, chicken legs are a nibble as famous in China as pipes
in Spain. Wherever you go you can always find a package of these fried bites. If you don't
feel like trying the cheap food version, you can also try them boiled in a soup, barbecued
or marinated for hours... Sound good?

6. Cheese with worms
If you like strong-smelling cheese, such as Gorgonzola, you might like this. Casu Marza
is a soft and decomposed sheep's milk cheese that serves as a home for the larvae of the
cheese fly. When you order this dish you will see how the insects move, but be careful 
not to bother them too much when moving the duck since they can jump up to 15 centimeters
lisks of trance like states.

7. Escamoles (ant larvae)
The e scamoles are the larvae of the very aggressive and gigantic black Liometopum ants.
They are found in the roots of agave plants and are often stung by farmers while
capturing them. To prepare them, they are first fed by frying them with butter and spices,
and then wrapped in a tortilla. The consistency is like cottage cheese, but the flavor has
hints of butter and nuts. They are popularly known as "insect caviar".


8. Puffer Fish
Known as "fugu" in Japan, the puffer fish is so dangerous that it can kill you. Almost 
tasks the puffer fish have the poison tetrodotoxin, which can kill thirty people at once
and has no known antidote. People still eat this delicacy and risk their lives at the
hands of specialized cooks who have learned to remove the poison. We hope your cook has
a good pulse.

9. Guinea pig
High in protein, low in cholesterol, why wouldn't you like it? Perhaps because it looks
like that pet you had as a child. If you see "guinea pig" on the menu, know that you are
going to be served a stuffed guinea pig, roasted or grilled. So don't think about your
guinea pig.


10. Developed duck fetus (balut)
This takes the soft-boiled egg concept a bit too far. Also known as "the egg with legs",
you won't be able to get anything wet here. Inside this Philippine delicacy is the fetus
of an 18-day-old bird, complete with feathers, beak, and bones.
