Whoa! Big news in Upland many have been waiting on - among buildings that can be constructed on player-owned properties are now, "small factories." Everyone can build them given you have spark and a big property to accommodate your products.

With Rio de Janeiro coming up, Porto FC announced, and now factories where players can produce their own goods to sell in-game, along with cars ongoing, Upland is busy.

It is a great time to join. Thinking of starting?

If you use my referral link here https://r.upland.me/GDVJ you will get enough free UPX (the in-game currency) to buy your first metaverse property - but if free play is your approach, make sure you launch in Detroit.

People are making USD in this game! I see it every day!

"Quote regarding factories from Upland: "Similar to real-world assets, assets like structures or cars in Upland require time to build and produce. In Upland, car production has been happening at the MV Motors Plant and 3D items will soon begin manufacturing in Factories owned by Uplanders. These Factories will be able to produce Outdoor Decor items for distribution throughout Upland and not only require space for the structure but will also require a designated Inventory Lot to store items once production of an item is complete."

Here is the direct link to the article on Upland about factories and how to build them and such: https://www.upland.me/events/new-structure-factories

A couple of screenshots follow:

Pretty easy all things considered. 8,600 total spark hours, which is how many hours it will take to construct if you have a 1.0 amount of spark staked.

Already I am seeing some people staking these builds on the spark exchange where others can get paid to rent out their spark (here: https://upx-spark.exchange/) at very high spark rental amounts (30 UPX/hour / 1.0 Spark, = 150% average rate lately). There is a bit of a race to be first.

The first use for factories will produce items in beta only for a dozen or so players who will be providing decor for properties. Decor is set to release very, very soon. The decor might include things like trees, lawn chairs, sculptures, or lawns. The creators are keeping it a little close to the chest at the moment. The decor produced from these small factories will be sold in-game as NFTs. The eventual idea is to allow for all in-game creators to make their own products eventually - building the factory on your property is the first start.

I could see Upland becoming an interesting version of an eBay for digital goods one day, - maybe.

Again, if you want to give the game a try for free use my referral link here: https://r.upland.me/GDVJIf you are just starting and want to play for free, make sure you start in Detroit.

You can also launch in other cities, but they will require some fiat to have enough in-game currency in addition to what you get for free from my referral link - places like Manhattan are 25x what Detroit costs right now at floor prices as a heads up.

I have written some other prior articles on Upland that you can also find on my profile that may have helpful information for you, such as how to navigate and so forth. The same website with factory information is something you should spend time on if new - many good tutorials there too.

I hope to have some information for Rio de Janeiro, and other things in the game again soon here.

Cheers
