Bandarban district is a district of Bangladesh. It belongs to Chittagong division. Inside Bangladesh, Bandarban is bounded on the south-west by Cox's Bazar, on the north-west by Chittagong, on the north by Rangamati, and on the east by the Chinese province of Myanmar and Arakan.

Bandarban is one of the three hill districts of Bangladesh and is the least populated place in Bangladesh. The highest peak in Bangladesh is Saka Huffong (1052 m). Keokradong (63 m), the second largest mountain in the country, and the highest canal, Raikhiang, are located in the district.

How to get there?

Airways

There is no direct flight from Dhaka to Bandarban. First you can go from Dhaka to Chittagong and from there you can go to Bandarban by Purabi or Purbani bus. Multiple flights of United Airways operate daily on Dhaka-Chittagong route.

The easiest way to get to Bandarban is by bus. It usually takes 6-10 hours to reach Bandarban by bus from Dhaka. It is possible to go to Bandarban by own transport system or by renting a car. Besides, you can go to Chittagong by train from Dhaka and Bandarban by bus from there. Bandarban can also be reached from Rangamati, Khagrachhari and Cox's Bazar.

There are two direct non-AC buses named Purabi and Purbani from Bahaddarhat terminal which leave for Bandarban after 1 hour. Rent - 90 rupees per person. The buses ply on the Chittagong-Bandarban-Chittagong route every hour from 6 am to 6 pm.

The road connections here are Chimbuk - Ruma, Bandarban - Roangchhari - Ruma, Aziznagar - Ghazalia - Lama, Khanhat - Dhopachhari - Bandarban, Bandarban - Chimbuk - Thanchi - Alikadam - Baishari - Ghundhum and Chimbuk - Tankabati -.

There is no direct Bandarban rail link from Dhaka. From Dhaka, first to Chittagong, then from there to Purabi or Pubarni by direct bus to Bandarban.

Waterways

There is no inter-district naval communication here.
